VibeFox Montonio for Adobe Commerce — सहायता
Requirements
Magento: Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9, on your own server or hosting, on premises or on Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure. The module does not work with Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service (the SaaS edition), which does not accept PHP modules.
PHP: 8.1 to 8.4, with the cURL extension.
Order currency: the currency of the order (the currency the customer sees at checkout) must be EUR or PLN. For any other currency the payment method is hidden at checkout.
Montonio account: you need the access key and the secret key of your store from the Montonio Partner System. Sandbox and live keys are different, so you need a pair for each environment you use. Nothing else has to be set up in Montonio: the notification URL is sent with every payment.
Internet access to your store: Montonio sends payment notifications to your store, so the site must be reachable from the internet. Without notifications, orders are still confirmed when the customer returns from Montonio.
VibeFox license key: bought on vibefox.net. One key works on one domain.
Installation
The module is one ZIP file. It is a Composer package and can also be copied into app/code. Run the commands in the Magento root folder as the user that owns the Magento files.
1. With Composer: put the ZIP file into a folder that your project uses as a Composer "artifact" repository and run composer require vibefox/module-montonio-payment. Without Composer: unpack the ZIP file into app/code/Vibefox/MontonioPayment/, so that registration.php is directly in that folder.
2. Run bin/magento module:enable Vibefox_MontonioPayment and bin/magento setup:upgrade. In production mode also run bin/magento setup:di:compile and bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy, then bin/magento cache:flush.
3. In the Admin go to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods and open VibeFox Montonio Payment. When the Magento PayPal module is enabled, the group is listed under Other Payment Methods. Paste your VibeFox license key into License key in the license block, the first row of the group, and click Activate (see License key).
4. In the Montonio Partner System open Stores > your store > API keys and copy the sandbox access key and secret key. Paste them into the settings and keep Sandbox mode on Yes. Set Enable to Yes, click Save Config and test a payment in the sandbox. Then enter the live keys and set Sandbox mode to No.
The module adds the Bank payment (Montonio) payment method to the Magento checkout. It is off after installation (Enable = No). The module uses the standard Magento order states and creates no order statuses of its own. It creates two tables for the Montonio payment attempts and refunds.
Configuration
All settings are in Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods > VibeFox Montonio Payment, in the standard Magento configuration form. The fields are one list on the page; below they are grouped by topic. Like other Magento settings, they can be changed for a website with the Scope switcher at the top of the page; Title and Description also for a store view. Set Remove data on uninstall in the Default Config. Save Config saves the whole page. Amounts accept "9.99" and "9,99".
If a value is wrong, Magento shows an error and nothing on the page is saved: an empty Title or one longer than 128 characters (Enter a payment title of up to 128 characters.), a Sort Order that is not a whole number (Sort order must be a whole number.), a Minimum Order Total or Maximum Order Total that is not a number of 0 or greater (Enter a non-negative order total.).
After Save Config, while Enable is Yes, the page warns you with Montonio: enter both keys of the selected environment. when the access key or the secret key of the current environment is missing (the payment method is then hidden at checkout), with Montonio: the store currency is unsupported; bank payments require EUR or PLN. and, while the sandbox is on, with Montonio sandbox mode is on; no real money is charged.
General
Enable: shows or hides Montonio at checkout. It is shown only when both keys of the current environment are set. Default: No.
Title: the payment method name customers see at checkout. It is also stored in the order and sent to Montonio as the name of the payment method. Default: Bank payment (Montonio). Required, up to 128 characters.
Description: as the comment says, Shown in the payment method list at checkout. The text appears under the payment method when the customer selects it. Default: Pay directly from your bank account. You will be redirected to Montonio to choose your bank.
Sort Order: the position among the payment methods at checkout. A whole number. Default: 0.
API keys
Get the keys in the Montonio Partner System under Stores > your store > API keys. Sandbox and live keys are different. The sandbox uses only the sandbox keys, live mode only the live keys.
Sandbox mode: uses the Montonio sandbox (test payments, no real money). It switches both the Montonio API address and the key pair. While it is on, customers see SANDBOX MODE — test payment, no real money is charged. under the payment method. Payments made in the other environment keep using the keys of their own environment for confirmations, status checks and refunds. Default: Yes. Set it to No only after entering the live keys.
Sandbox access key: the access key (UUID) of your store in the Montonio sandbox.
Sandbox secret key: the secret key of your store in the Montonio sandbox.
Live access key: the access key (UUID) of your store in the live Montonio environment.
Live secret key: the secret key of your store in the live Montonio environment.
Magento stores the secret keys encrypted and shows only a mask (******) after saving. As the comment under each secret key says, Blank keeps the saved secret. Use Clear to remove it. Leave the field as it is or empty to keep the saved key, type a new value to change it.
Clear saved sandbox secret key and Clear saved live secret key: set to Yes and click Save Config to delete the saved secret key. The field goes back to No after saving.
Conditions
Payment from Applicable Countries: All Allowed Countries offers Montonio for every country your store allows, Specific Countries only for the countries below.
Payment from Specific Countries: offer Montonio only for billing addresses in these countries.
Minimum Order Total: offer Montonio only from this order total, in the base currency of your store. Empty or 0 means no minimum.
Maximum Order Total: offer Montonio only up to this order total, in the base currency. Empty or 0 means no maximum.
Advanced
Debug log: writes payment events to var/log/wc_mnt_debug.log.php in the Magento folder. The file cannot be opened from the web. Errors and warnings are always logged, even when this is off. Keys, tokens and customer contact data are not logged. Default: No.
Remove data on uninstall: when Yes, uninstalling the module with its data deletes the module settings and the log (see Uninstall). The license key is always removed. As the comment says, Native order, payment and refund history is always retained. Default: No.
Setup instructions: a short reminder where to get the keys, with a link to the Montonio Partner System, and the notification URL of the default store view, for example https://your-store/wcpmontoniopayment/webhook/index/. You do not need to enter it anywhere: the module sends the notification URL to Montonio with every payment, using the address of the store view the order was placed in.
Log: shows the size and the latest entries of the log. Click Clear log to empty it.
Payment notifications
Montonio tells your store about each payment with a signed token. The token arrives in two ways: by a server-to-server notification to the notification URL and with the customer when they return to the store. Both are checked: the signature with the secret key of the environment the payment was created in, the expiry time, your access key, the Montonio order UUID and that the payment is one your store created for that cart. A token signed with the key of the other environment is rejected. Each status is applied only once, so repeated notifications do not add notes, invoices or e-mails twice.
Checkout
At the payment step the customer chooses the payment method (by default Bank payment (Montonio)) and sees the description. After Place Order, Magento places the order in Pending Payment. No invoice is created and no order e-mail is sent yet. The module then creates a Montonio payment for the order total in the order currency and sends the customer to the Montonio payment page. There the customer picks a bank and pays. Banks of the customer's billing country are shown first when it is Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland or Poland (Poland for PLN orders). The payment shows as Order and the order number. The Montonio page opens in the store language when it is German, English, Estonian, Finnish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish or Russian, otherwise in English.
The order is marked paid only after Montonio confirms it: by the notification or with the customer's return. Magento then creates the invoice with the Montonio order UUID as the transaction ID, sets the order to Processing and sends the order e-mail. The module handles these Montonio payment statuses:
When the customer comes back, a paid payment leads to the standard order success page. If the order is on hold, the success page shows Your Montonio payment is being confirmed or reviewed. Do not pay again. If the payment was cancelled or rejected, the order is cancelled, the cart is restored and the customer is back in the cart with Montonio payment was cancelled or rejected by the bank. Please try again or choose another payment method. If Montonio has not confirmed the payment yet, a Payment confirmation page says We could not confirm your payment yet. If you completed it, your order will be updated automatically. Please do not pay again. with the buttons Check again, which asks Montonio for the current status, and Back to checkout; the notification confirms the order as soon as it arrives. A customer who comes back in another browser lands on the home page with Your Montonio payment status was checked. Sign in or contact the shop to view the order.
Before creating a new payment for the same cart, the module asks Montonio about the previous one. If it is already paid or authorized, that payment is processed and no second payment is made. If the cart already has a paid order, the customer goes to the success page.
If Montonio cannot start the payment, the order is cancelled, the cart is restored and the customer sees a short message in the cart, for example Montonio could not start the payment. Check its status before trying again. or Montonio is unavailable for this order. The technical reason is written to the log. If Montonio gave no clear answer, the order is put On Hold with the note Montonio create outcome is unknown. Verify in Partner System before another payment. and the customer sees the success page with the on-hold message, so that the same cart is not paid twice.
The module takes bank payments (payment initiation) only. It has no card payments, BLIK, Apple Pay or Google Pay, Pay Later or financing, Montonio shipping, subscriptions, saved payment methods or bank selection on your own site. Montonio payments cannot be captured, voided or cancelled from Magento. Montonio is not offered for orders created in the Admin or for multi-address checkout.
Orders and refunds
Order statuses
Pending Payment: the order was placed and the customer was sent to Montonio, but Montonio has not confirmed the payment yet. There is no invoice.
Processing: Montonio confirmed the payment (PAID) with the exact order amount and currency. The invoice is created with the Montonio order UUID as the transaction ID, and a note shows the bank, the UUID and the environment.
On Hold: the bank has not confirmed the payment yet (AUTHORIZED); the order is invoiced when Montonio reports PAID. An order is also put on hold without an invoice when Montonio reported a different amount or currency than the order, when a sandbox payment arrived while the store is in live mode (no money was received), or when the payment arrived after the order had been cancelled. The note says Montonio payment requires review: and the reason. Check the payment in the Montonio Partner System, then process the order or refund the payment. When money is at Montonio (AUTHORIZED, a different amount or currency, a second payment of the cart), the order is moved to Processing before the hold, so Unhold returns it to Processing and Magento does not cancel it as an expired Pending Payment order. If you decide not to keep such an order, refund the payment (with Refund uninvoiced charge, a full refund cancels the order, or in the Montonio Partner System), then use Unhold and Cancel if the order is still open.
Canceled: the payment was cancelled or rejected, or the payment could not be started. Only the latest payment attempt of the cart can cancel the order.
Closed: the payment was fully refunded with a credit memo.
If a second payment of the same cart is paid, no invoice is created; the order of that payment is put on hold with the note Montonio received a second payment for this cart. Refund the duplicate in the Partner System. The notes are order comments that the customer does not see.
Montonio payment information
On the admin order page (Sales > Orders > View) the payment information shows the payment method title and Montonio UUID, Montonio environment, Montonio bank, Montonio status and the Montonio refund history. The customer sees only the payment method title. On the Information tab, Admin users who may edit orders also see the Montonio transactions block with all payment attempts of the cart and the button Check Montonio payment status, which reads the payment from Montonio again and adds the result as a note.
Refunds
Open the order, go to the Invoices tab, open the invoice and click Credit Memo. Choose the items and amounts to refund and click Refund. The money is sent back through Montonio. Full and partial refunds are supported. A credit memo started from the order page instead of the invoice offers only Refund Offline, which does not send money back through Montonio.
The refund is made in the order currency, up to the amount Montonio charged minus the amounts already refunded. It is sent to the environment the payment was made in (sandbox or live), so that environment's keys must be set. If Montonio does not accept the refund, Magento shows the error and the credit memo is not created. After a successful refund Magento records it on the order with the Montonio refund ID as the transaction ID. A full refund closes the order. Refunds are available once Montonio has reported the payment as paid and the order has an invoice.
Montonio confirms or rejects each refund later by a notification. The result is added to the notes. If Montonio rejected or cancelled a refund, the money was not returned to the customer: check it in the Montonio Partner System and correct the credit memo in Magento. Until then further online refunds of the order are blocked.
Charges without an invoice: when a payment was received but the order has no invoice (for example On Hold after an amount mismatch or after a late payment), the Montonio transactions block shows This charge has no paid invoice. Its actual amount can be refunded without creating a Credit Memo. Enter the Refund amount in the currency Montonio charged (the remaining amount is filled in) and optionally a Reason, and click Refund uninvoiced charge. You need the right to create credit memos. The refund and a note are added to the order; a full refund cancels it.
Refunds made in the Montonio Partner System are added to the notes when Montonio reports them. No credit memo is created automatically. Create it with Refund Offline after checking the refund.
License key
The module works with a VibeFox license key from vibefox.net. The license block License — VibeFox Montonio Payment is the first row of the VibeFox Montonio Payment group in Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods, above the settings. Paste the key into License key and click Activate. After that the block shows the key masked, the status (for example the date the license is active until and your domain) and the buttons Check now to check the status again, Change key to enter another key and Remove key to remove the key from this store. Below them are the line Product: magento-payment-montonio and the link Manage licenses and domains in your account, which opens your vibefox.net account. Only Admin users whose role allows the Payment Methods configuration section can change the key. The texts of the block follow the Admin interface locale (English and Russian are included).
If the key is not accepted, the block says why, for example Key not found, This key belongs to another product, Domain limit reached or License expired on a date. After the store address changes, or after you free a domain slot in your account, click Check now. If the license server cannot be reached, the module keeps working on the last known status.
One key works on one domain: the domain of the default store view, also when the installation has several websites or stores. Removing the key from the store does not free its domain slot. Free the slot in your vibefox.net account.
Without an active key, Montonio is not shown to customers at checkout. If a payment is started anyway, the order is cancelled, the cart is restored and the customer sees This payment method is not available. Please choose another one. The Magento storefront does not know that you are logged in to the Admin, so the payment method is hidden for you too: you can set up the module before you buy a key, but not test it at checkout. A reminder appears in the System Messages of the Admin, with the links Enter the license key and Dismiss, which hides it for 7 days. Existing orders are not affected: payments already started are still confirmed, and refunds work.
When a license expires, the module keeps working, but updates and support need a renewal. The status is checked again automatically: once a day for the first 14 days after the key is entered, then once a week, by the Magento cron and while you work in the Admin. Uninstalling the module with its data always removes the license key and license status.
Troubleshooting
Montonio does not appear at checkout: check that the license is active and Enable is Yes for the website of the store, and that both keys of the current environment are set: Sandbox access key and Sandbox secret key in sandbox mode, Live access key and Live secret key in live mode. Check that the currency the customer pays in is EUR or PLN. Check Payment from Applicable Countries and Payment from Specific Countries against the customer's billing address, and Minimum Order Total and Maximum Order Total.
The payment went through, but the order stays Pending Payment: the notification did not reach your store. Check that the store is reachable from the internet (no basic authentication or firewall in the way) and that the keys in the settings belong to the environment of the payment. The order is also confirmed when the customer returns to the store after paying, when the customer clicks Check again, or when you click Check Montonio payment status on the order.
Notification answers Invalid token: the token signature, expiry or access key did not match. Check that the access key and secret key are copied correctly and belong to the right environment, and that the server clock is correct. A token signed with the key of the other environment is also rejected.
Notification answers Foreign payment or Unknown payment: the payment was not created by this store for this cart, for example when two stores use the same Montonio account. Nothing is changed.
Notification answers Gateway not configured: no Montonio keys are set, or the keys of the payment's environment are missing. Enter the keys; Montonio retries the notification.
Notification answers busy or retry: the cart was being processed by another request at the same moment, or the payment could not be processed. Montonio retries the notification. Turn on Debug log and look at the Log field for the reason.
Notifications fail while the store is in maintenance mode: Magento maintenance mode closes the whole site, the notification URL too. Montonio retries the notification later, and the order is also confirmed when the customer returns.
The customer is back in the cart with an error after Place Order: turn on Debug log and look at the Log field. Wrong or missing keys and payment data that Montonio refused are written there. The order of that attempt is cancelled.
The order is On Hold: read the notes of the order (see Order statuses), then process the order or refund the payment.
Sandbox payments do not confirm a live order: a sandbox payment never completes an order while the store is in live mode; the order is put on hold instead. Set Sandbox mode to the environment you want and use that environment's keys.
Refund fails with Configure the Montonio keys of the original payment environment.: the payment was made in the sandbox or live environment, and the keys of that environment are not set. Enter them and try again.
Refund fails with Reconcile the Montonio refund journal with the native Credit Memo before another refund.: the refunds sent through Montonio and the refunds recorded in Magento differ, for example after a Refund Offline credit memo or a refund that Montonio rejected. Refund the rest in the Montonio Partner System and record it with Refund Offline.
Refund fails with Montonio refund outcome is unknown. Verify in Partner System before trying again.: Montonio did not give a clear answer. Further online refunds of this order are blocked so that no money is refunded twice. Check the refund in the Montonio Partner System and, if needed, refund there and record it with Refund Offline.
The Refund button is missing on the credit memo: start the credit memo from the invoice (Invoices tab), not from the order page. An order without an invoice can be refunded with Refund uninvoiced charge (see Refunds) or in the Montonio Partner System.
The settings page or the checkout looks unchanged after installing or updating: run bin/magento setup:upgrade and bin/magento cache:flush; in production mode also setup:di:compile and setup:static-content:deploy.
Uninstall
Deleting the module code alone removes nothing from the database: the license key and the settings stay. To remove the data, uninstall the module with the Magento command:
Installed with Composer: run bin/magento module:uninstall --remove-data Vibefox_MontonioPayment. It removes the data and the code.
Installed in app/code: run bin/magento module:uninstall --non-composer Vibefox_MontonioPayment to remove the data, then bin/magento module:disable Vibefox_MontonioPayment, delete the folder app/code/Vibefox/MontonioPayment and run bin/magento setup:upgrade.
The license key and license status are always removed. If Remove data on uninstall is Yes, the module settings and the log are removed too. If it is No, the settings are kept for a re-install. The Montonio payment attempts and refund records are always kept, so orders paid before can still be refunded after a re-install. Existing orders keep their invoices, payment notes and transaction IDs.
Montonio is a trademark of its respective owner. This module is not affiliated with or endorsed by Montonio.
