VibeFox Hubtel for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Hubtel Pay Gateway adds Hubtel payments in Ghana to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. The customer chooses Hubtel at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer goes to the secure Hubtel Online Checkout page, pays with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, a Visa or Mastercard card or GhQR, and comes back to your store. The order is invoiced only after Hubtel confirms the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then.

It suits Ghanaian stores that sell in Ghana cedis (GHS) and have a Hubtel business account. Hubtel must whitelist the IP address of your web server for its Transaction Status API, and Hubtel has no public test environment, so all payments are real. The module has no online refunds from Magento, no subscriptions, no saved cards and no choice of the payment channel inside the store, and it is not offered for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

Hosted Hubtel checkout: Mobile Money and card payments on the Hubtel page. The customer chooses the channel there.

Paid only when Hubtel confirms: Hubtel callbacks are not signed, so the module never trusts them. It asks the authenticated Hubtel Transaction Status API and invoices the order only when Hubtel reports it as paid for the exact order total in GHS.

Amount check: a different amount puts the order On Hold without an invoice and with a note for you.

Nothing to set up at Hubtel: the callback URL is sent with every payment.

Lost callbacks covered: the customer's return checks the payment, the Magento cron re-checks waiting payments every 5 minutes, and you can click Check Hubtel payment status on the order page.

No double processing: every payment attempt has its own reference. Repeated callbacks never invoice an order twice or reopen a cancelled order. A second payment of an already paid cart is noted for a refund.

Cancel on Hubtel: the waiting order is cancelled, the cart is restored and the customer can try again.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with the encrypted API Key, the callback URL shown on the page, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, a history of the Hubtel payment attempts on the order page and an optional log without API keys or customer data.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4 with the cURL extension. A Hubtel business account with API ID, API Key and merchant account number (POS Sales ID), and your server IP whitelisted by Hubtel. Store currency Ghana cedi (GHS). The Magento cron running. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
