Overview
VibeFox ECPay Payment Gateway adds ECPay (綠界), the Taiwanese payment service, to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. The customer chooses ECPay at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer goes to the ECPay hosted payment page and pays by credit card, ATM virtual account, convenience store payment code or convenience store barcode. Card data never touches your site. The order is invoiced only after ECPay confirms the payment with a signed notification, and the order e-mail is sent only then.
It suits stores in Taiwan that sell in New Taiwan Dollars (TWD). The module takes one-time payments only. It has no refunds from Magento (refunds are made in the ECPay back-office), no saved cards, subscriptions or periodic payments, installments, Apple Pay, e-invoices or logistics, and no payments for orders created in the Admin.
Key features
Four ECPay methods: Credit Card, ATM virtual account, CVS code (convenience store) and Barcode. With several methods enabled, the customer chooses one at checkout.
Paid only when ECPay confirms: an order is invoiced only by the ECPay server notification with a valid CheckMacValue signature, for a trade number this store issued, with a paid amount that matches the order. The customer's return alone never marks an order paid.
Payment details for offline methods: for ATM, CVS and Barcode the order waits in Pending Payment, and the account, code or barcodes with the payment deadline are shown on the order success page and in the customer's order.
Safe retries: every payment attempt gets a new ECPay trade number, so retries work. Repeated notifications never invoice an order twice, and a second payment for a paid cart is noted for refund.
No surprises: simulated payments from the ECPay back-office never mark orders paid, and amount or currency mismatches and sandbox payments after going live put the order On Hold without an invoice.
Test without an account: test mode uses the public ECPay sandbox merchant, so you can test before you have ECPay keys.
ECPay details on the order page: the ECPay trade numbers, payment type and received amount in the payment information, and a list of all payment attempts with their status.
Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with an encrypted HashKey and HashIV, the notification URL shown on the page, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, and a log without keys; errors are always logged.
