VibeFox Bob Go for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Bob Go adds a Bob Go shipping method to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce with live shipping rates at checkout. Bob Go is a South African shipping aggregator: you set up carriers, services and prices in your Bob Go account, and every service it returns is shown at checkout as its own shipping option, for example "Bob Go - The Courier Guy - Economy". Fixed prices per country serve as the fallback.

It suits South African stores that already use Bob Go. The module shows rates at checkout. It does not create shipments, waybills or labels, track parcels, sync orders to Bob Go, offer pickup point or locker selection, or ship outside South Africa.

Key features

Live Bob Go services: every service Bob Go returns from its "Rates at checkout" API is a separate shipping option at checkout, with its Bob Go name and price.

No API keys: Bob Go identifies your store by its domain.

Three modes: live rates only, fixed prices only, or live rates with fixed prices when Bob Go returns no rates. Fixed prices per country plus a flat price, per order or per item.

Currency handling: Bob Go quotes in rand (ZAR). Stores with another base currency set a ZAR conversion rate; rates are converted and product prices are sent to Bob Go in ZAR. Magento shows the price in the customer's currency.

Service saved with the order: the Bob Go service and the estimated delivery are shown on the order page in the Admin and to the customer. Delivery dates can also be shown at checkout.

Fast checkout: rates are cached for 1 hour, failed requests for 5 minutes. A failed request never breaks the checkout. The settings page shows the last response from Bob Go.

Shipping rules: minimum and maximum weight, minimum order amount, free shipping from an order amount, and the countries you ship to. Magento cart price rules with free shipping work as usual.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Delivery Methods configuration page, with sections for the Bob Go account, the origin address, fixed prices, conditions and a debug log viewer, and settings per website.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. Live rates need a Bob Go account with your store installed as a sales channel and "Rates at checkout" enabled. Fixed prices work without one. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
