VibeFox Windcave for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Windcave Payment Gateway adds payments through the Windcave Hosted Payment Page to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, using the Windcave REST API. The customer chooses Windcave at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer is sent to the secure Windcave page and pays there by card or by another method enabled on your Windcave account. Card data never touches your site. The order is invoiced only after Windcave confirms the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then.

It suits stores with a Windcave merchant account that want card payments without a card form on their own site, with the choice to take the money at once or only authorise it and capture it later with a Magento invoice. The module has no subscriptions or recurring payments, no saved cards, no card fields on your site, no partial capture, no payments for orders created in the Admin, and it does not work with the older PxPay 2.0 API.

Key features

Hosted Payment Page: a Windcave payment session is created for the order total in the order currency, with the decimals of the currency (NZD 25.50, JPY 3000, KWD 1.250). The return and notification URLs are sent with every session, so nothing has to be set up at Windcave.

Paid only when Windcave confirms: the customer's return and the Windcave notification are both checked on the server through the Windcave REST API with the credentials of the environment of the payment. The invoice carries the Windcave transaction as the transaction ID and is created exactly once.

Order check: the amount, currency, merchant reference, session and transaction type reported by Windcave are compared with the order. A mismatch puts the order On Hold with a note and without an invoice.

Purchase or Authorization only: take the money immediately, or only authorise it: capture the full amount later with a Magento invoice (Capture Online), or cancel the order to release (void) the authorisation.

Online refunds with Credit Memo: full and partial refunds from the invoice, in the currency and environment of the payment, up to the amount Windcave actually took. Each operation has its own X-ID, so a repeated attempt is not processed twice by Windcave.

No double charge: a new payment attempt first checks the previous session, and a second approved payment for a cart that is already paid is reported in a note instead of changing the order. A declined, cancelled or expired payment cancels the waiting order and gives the cart back.

UAT and production: separate username and API key for the Windcave UAT test environment and for production, saved side by side. Payment methods on the Windcave page: Cards, Account2Account, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay, UnionPay, Interac, humm.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted API keys, the notification URL shown on the page, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, and an optional log without keys, card or customer data. The admin order page shows every Windcave attempt and operation.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. A Windcave merchant account with REST API credentials (username and API key) for the UAT test environment and/or production. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
