VibeFox Klarna for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Klarna Payments adds Klarna Payments to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce: customers pay now, pay later or in instalments with the Klarna widget shown inside the payment step, without leaving your store. The customer loads Klarna, authorizes the purchase in the widget and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the module then places the Klarna order server-side with the order data. The order is authorized and the order e-mail is sent only after Klarna accepts the purchase.

It suits stores in Europe, North America and Oceania with a Klarna merchant account that want Klarna at checkout and control over when the customer is charged. It has no Klarna Checkout (KCO), Express Checkout buttons, On-site messaging, Sign in with Klarna, subscriptions or saved payment methods, and Klarna is not offered for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

Klarna widget at the payment step: the Klarna session is created from the cart on the server, and the order is checked against the authorized cart before the Klarna order is placed.

Three API regions: Europe, North America and Oceania. Klarna is offered only to customers from the countries of your region paying in the currency of their country.

Capture when you ship: an accepted Klarna order is a Magento authorization. By default it is captured when you create the first shipment, and the invoice is created at the same time. If the capture fails, the shipment is not saved. Auto capture, or capture with Invoice and Capture Online, are also available.

Cancellation and online refunds: cancelling a not yet captured order releases the Klarna authorization. Full and partial refunds through the standard Magento Credit Memo of the invoice with Refund.

Fraud review: orders that Klarna places as pending wait in Pending Payment. Klarna's notification is verified with the Order Management API, and the amount and currency are checked against the order. A mismatch puts the order On Hold with a note.

Test and live: Klarna playground with separate credentials. Every order remembers its environment and region, so captures and refunds of playground orders keep working after you go live.

No double processing: repeated notifications and double clicks never create a second Klarna order, a second authorization, a double capture or a double refund.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted passwords, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, the Klarna data in the payment information of the order and an optional log without credentials or customer contacts.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. A Klarna merchant account with API credentials (username and password) for one API region, and test credentials from the Klarna playground. An order currency sold by Klarna in your region. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
