VibeFox IntaSend for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox IntaSend Pay Gateway adds IntaSend payments to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce for stores in Kenya and East Africa. The customer chooses IntaSend at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer is sent to the IntaSend hosted checkout to pay with M-Pesa, a card or another method enabled on your IntaSend account. The order is invoiced only after IntaSend confirms the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then.

It suits stores that want to accept M-Pesa and cards with an IntaSend account without a payment form on their own site. The module takes one-time payments only. It has no refunds from Magento (make them in the IntaSend dashboard), no saved cards, no subscriptions, no inline (popup) payment form and no payments for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

IntaSend hosted checkout: a checkout is created for the order total in the order currency. Supported currencies: KES, USD, EUR, GBP, UGX, TZS, NGN, GHS, XAF and XOF. UGX, XAF and XOF are sent without decimals.

Paid only when IntaSend confirms: the order is invoiced only after your server has asked the IntaSend Payment Status API with your secret key. Nothing sent by the browser or in the webhook body is trusted. The invoice is created with the IntaSend invoice ID as the transaction ID.

Webhook with challenge: payments are confirmed even when the customer closes the browser or M-Pesa confirms later. Webhooks with a wrong challenge are rejected.

Amount and currency check: the amount and currency reported by IntaSend are compared with the order. A mismatch or a partial payment puts the order On Hold with a note and without an invoice.

No double processing: a payment is applied once even when the customer return and the webhook arrive at the same moment, so an order is never invoiced twice. A second or late payment of the same cart is flagged with a note.

Sandbox and live modes: separate key pairs for each mode. The payment method is hidden while the keys of the current mode are missing or belong to the other mode. Older payments are always checked in the mode they were made in.

Clear handling of failures: a failed or abandoned payment cancels the waiting order, gives the cart back and shows a message in the cart. While M-Pesa is still confirming, the customer sees a Payment confirmation page with Check again.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted secret keys, the webhook URL shown on the page, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, an IntaSend payment history on the order page and an optional log without keys or customer data.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4 with the cURL extension. An IntaSend account with publishable and secret API keys, and a webhook with a challenge phrase. HTTPS for live payments. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
