VibeFox eWAY for Adobe Commerce

Overview

eWAY Payment Gateway adds card payments through the eWAY Rapid API Responsive Shared Page to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. The customer chooses eWAY at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer is sent to the secure eWAY payment page, pays by card and comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. The order is invoiced only after eWAY confirms the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then.

It suits stores in Australia, New Zealand and Asia that charge in AUD, NZD, SGD, HKD or MYR and have an eWAY merchant account with Rapid API access. The module takes one-time card payments only, captured immediately. It has no card fields on your site, no saved cards or subscriptions, no separate authorise and capture, refunds made in MyeWAY are not synced back to Magento, and it is not offered for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

Responsive Shared Page: the hosted eWAY payment page for the order total in the order currency, with the billing address and e-mail of the customer. Nothing has to be configured in eWAY: the return URL is sent with every payment.

Paid only when eWAY confirms: when the customer returns, the module asks eWAY server-to-server for the result of the payment page of this order. Nothing in the return link is trusted. The invoice carries the eWAY transaction ID.

Amount and currency check: the approved amount and currency are compared with the order. A mismatch, such as an approval for a partial amount, puts the order On Hold with a note and without an invoice.

Lost returns are picked up: if the customer pays and closes the browser, the Magento cron asks eWAY from 60 minutes later and confirms the order. A declined or cancelled payment cancels the waiting order and gives the cart back.

No double processing: repeated returns never invoice an order twice. A new payment attempt first checks the earlier eWAY pages of the cart, and a second approved payment is flagged for refund.

Online refunds with Credit Memo: full and partial refunds from the invoice, sent to eWAY in the mode the payment was made in, up to the amount eWAY actually charged. Unclear refund answers are never sent twice.

Sandbox and live: separate API credentials for each mode. Payments are checked and refunded in the mode they were made in.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted API keys and passwords, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, and an optional log without keys or customer e-mails. The admin order page shows the eWAY transaction ID, the mode and the history of payment attempts and refunds.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4, a running Magento cron. An eWAY merchant account with Rapid API key and password (and an eWAY sandbox account for testing). Order currency AUD, NZD, SGD, HKD or MYR. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
