VibeFox The Courier Guy for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox The Courier Guy adds a The Courier Guy (South Africa) shipping method to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. It works with the ShipLogic platform that The Courier Guy runs on and offers two options: courier delivery to the door and delivery to a TCG locker the customer chooses at the shipping step. The price is a live ShipLogic rate or comes from your own price table.

It suits South African stores with a The Courier Guy business account. The module calculates rates and lets customers pick a locker. It does not book shipments, create waybills or labels, or update tracking automatically. Book the parcel in your The Courier Guy portal and enter the reference as the tracking number of the shipment.

Key features

Two options in one method: "Courier delivery" (to the door) and "TCG locker", each with its own name and on/off switch.

Live courier rates: the cheapest ShipLogic service from your sender address to the customer's address, once the address is complete.

Locker selection: customers see the lockers near their city, can search another city, suburb or postal code, and must choose one. The choice is checked on the server, and a cart restored after a cancelled payment can get a new locker.

Locker and tracking on the order: the locker is added to the shipping description of the order and shown in a block on the admin order page and in the customer's order view. The The Courier Guy reference is entered as a standard Magento tracking number.

Currency and tax: ShipLogic quotes in rand. Other base currencies use your ZAR conversion rate. Live rates are taken without VAT, so VAT is not charged twice when your store taxes shipping.

Price table: prices by country and weight tier, per order or per item, plus a fallback cost, for addresses outside South Africa and whenever there is no live rate.

Resilient checkout: rates are cached for 1 hour, lockers for 6 hours, failures for 10 minutes. If ShipLogic is down, the price table is used and a locker order can still be placed.

Standard Magento settings: one group on the Delivery Methods page with sections, settings per website, the API key stored encrypted, applicable countries, weight and order amount conditions, warnings after saving and a debug log.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. A ShipLogic API key from your The Courier Guy courier portal for live rates and lockers. The price table works without it. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
