VibeFox Helcim for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Helcim Gateway adds credit card payments through the Helcim Payment API to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. The customer enters the card in the payment method on your checkout and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, your server sends the card to Helcim, and Helcim answers in the same request. The order is invoiced only after Helcim approves the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then. Orders are charged in CAD or USD.

It suits merchants in Canada and the United States with a Helcim account who want a card form directly on their checkout. Card details pass through your web server, so your store needs HTTPS and PCI DSS compliant hosting (SAQ D). The module has no saved cards, subscriptions, HelcimPay.js, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and no Helcim webhooks: captures, refunds and voids made in the Helcim dashboard are not reflected in Magento. Helcim is not offered for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

Card form on your checkout: card number, expiry, CVC and cardholder name, checked before sending (card number checksum, expiry not in the past, CVC length). The card is never stored or logged.

Purchase or pre-authorization: charge the card at once, or only hold the funds and capture them later with Capture authorized funds on the order page, or release them with Release authorization.

Paid only after approval: the invoice with the Helcim transaction ID is created only after Helcim approves the payment and its amount, currency and transaction ID match the order. A mismatch puts the order On Hold with a note and without an invoice. A declined card leaves the order waiting, and the customer can try again.

One charge per cart: payment attempts of a cart are locked, a cart that is already paid is never charged again, and every attempt uses an idempotency key, so a retry after a timeout returns the original Helcim result instead of charging the card twice.

Online refunds with Credit Memo: full and partial refunds through the standard Magento Credit Memo of the invoice with Refund, up to the amount Helcim actually charged.

Live and test tokens: separate API tokens for your live and test Helcim accounts. Captures, refunds and releases always use the account the order was paid in.

Helcim history on the order page: every payment attempt and operation with its Helcim transaction ID, amount and result, and a form to reconcile a result that was not received, after you verify it in Helcim.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted tokens, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, and a log without card numbers, tokens or customer data.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. HTTPS and PCI DSS compliant hosting. A Helcim merchant account (Canada or United States) and an API token. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
