VibeFox GLS ParcelShop for WooCommerce — Help
Requirements
WordPress: 5.8 or later.
WooCommerce: 7.0 or later, installed and active. The plugin refuses to activate without it.
PHP: 8.0 or later.
GLS: no GLS account or API key is used or needed by the plugin. The ParcelShop map is public. You need a GLS contract to ship the parcels to the chosen ParcelShops.
VibeFox license key: bought on vibefox.net. One key works on one domain.
Installation
1. In WordPress go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the plugin ZIP file and click Install Now. You can also upload the vfd_gls_parcelshop folder to /wp-content/plugins/ by FTP.
2. Click Activate.
3. Open the settings: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox GLS ParcelShop, or click Settings under the plugin name on the Plugins page.
4. Enter your VibeFox license key in the license block at the top of the page and click Activate.
5. Set the name and your prices: at least one Country prices row (for example * Default) or a Fallback cost (see Configuration).
6. Add VibeFox GLS ParcelShop to a shipping zone in WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping zones, or turn on Ignore shipping zones.
Configuration
All settings are on one page: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox GLS ParcelShop. They apply to every shipping zone. When you add the method to a zone, the zone window has only one field:
Title (zone): the shipping method name customers see in this zone. Leave it empty to use the global Name.
Warnings at the top of the settings page point out configuration problems, for example when no price is set or when none of the selected countries is covered by the GLS map. Invalid numbers are refused with a message, and the previous value is kept.
General
The section lists the countries covered by the GLS map. The method is not offered for other destination countries.
Enable/Disable: turns the method on or off in all zones at once. Default: on.
Name: the shipping method name shown to the customer. A zone can override it with its own Title. Default: GLS ParcelShop.
Tax status: Taxable adds WooCommerce tax to the shipping cost, None does not. Default: Taxable.
Prices
Prices are entered in your store currency. Decimals may use a comma or a point (4,99 or 4.99).
Calculation type: how the price is applied.
Country prices: a table with one row per destination country. Click + Add country to add a row and the cross to remove one. Each row has a Country, a Price and five weight columns: XS up to 1 kg, S 1-2 kg, M 2-3 kg, L 3-5 kg and XL over 5 kg. The column for the cart weight is used. A weight column left at 0 uses the Price column. The * Default row is used for countries without their own row. New rows start with 0 in every column, and a row where all prices are 0 gives free delivery, so fill in the prices before you save.
Fallback cost: the price used when the table has no row for the destination country and no * Default row. Leave it empty to hide the method for such countries.
Free shipping from: the cart subtotal (after discounts, without tax) from which GLS ParcelShop delivery is free. Leave it empty if delivery is never free.
Availability
Minimum weight (kg): hide the method when the cart weighs less. The weight is converted from your store weight unit. Empty or 0 means no limit.
Maximum weight (kg): hide the method when the cart weighs more. Default: 20. GLS ParcelShops usually accept parcels up to 20 kg, so check your GLS contract. Empty or 0 means no limit.
Minimum cart subtotal: offer the method only when the cart subtotal (after discounts, without tax) reaches this amount. Leave it empty for no minimum.
Excluded shipping classes: hide the method when the cart contains a product of one of these WooCommerce shipping classes.
Ignore shipping zones: when on, the method is offered for the countries selected below, even if it is not added to the matching shipping zone. When off, it is offered only in the zones it is added to. Default: off.
Countries (ignore zones mode): the destination countries for that mode. Leave it empty to use all GLS map countries. Countries not covered by the GLS map are skipped. This field is used only when Ignore shipping zones is on.
Advanced
Debug log: logs the rate calculation and ParcelShop choices to WooCommerce > Status > Logs (source vfd-gls-parcelshop). No customer personal data is logged. Turn the log off when you are done.
Remove data on uninstall: when on, deleting the plugin removes the settings and the zone instances of this method. Deactivating the plugin never deletes anything. The ParcelShop saved in orders is always kept.
How it works at checkout
When the customer enters a delivery address, WooCommerce asks the plugin for a rate. The plugin first checks the conditions: delivery country covered by the GLS map, cart weight, minimum cart subtotal and excluded shipping classes. If the cart subtotal reaches Free shipping from, the delivery is free. Otherwise the price is taken from the row of the country (or the * Default row) and the weight column, or from Fallback cost. If no price is found, the method is hidden.
When the customer selects GLS ParcelShop, a Select GLS ParcelShop button appears under the method. It opens the official GLS ParcelShop map for the shipping country. After a ParcelShop is chosen, its name and address are shown and the button changes to Change ParcelShop. The choice is remembered in the customer session, so it stays after a checkout refresh or a page reload.
When the order is placed, the plugin checks that a ParcelShop was chosen and that it is in the shipping country. Otherwise the customer sees Please select a GLS ParcelShop. or The selected GLS ParcelShop is not in your shipping country. Please choose a ParcelShop again. and the order is not placed. If the GLS map script cannot be loaded, the customer sees a message to reload the page or choose another shipping method.
The GLS map runs in the customer's browser. On the checkout page the plugin loads the GLS map script from map.gls-croatia.com, and the map loads ParcelShop data and map tiles from GLS. GLS receives the usual request data of the visitor (IP address, browser). Nothing is sent from your server to GLS.
The method works on the classic checkout and on the Cart and Checkout blocks. It is compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).
The plugin does not get live GLS rates, create GLS shipments, print labels or track parcels. It has no list of ParcelShops on your server, so it cannot verify the ParcelShop ID against GLS. Hand the ParcelShop ID from the order to GLS in your usual way (MyGLS, your GLS software or another plugin).
Pickup points
The chosen ParcelShop is saved with the order: its ID, its name with the address and its country.
Admin order screen: the ParcelShop name and address with the ParcelShop ID and country are shown under the shipping address. If a GLS ParcelShop order has no ParcelShop, the screen shows No ParcelShop was selected for this order.
Customer pages: the ParcelShop is shown on the thank-you page and on the order view page in the customer account.
E-mails: the ParcelShop is added to the order e-mails, HTML and plain text. E-mails to the store admin also include the ParcelShop ID.
Developers can read the ParcelShop from the order meta _vfd_glps_parcelshop_id, _vfd_glps_parcelshop_name and _vfd_glps_parcelshop_country.
License key
The plugin works with a VibeFox license key from vibefox.net. The license block is at the top of WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox GLS ParcelShop. Paste the key into License key and click Activate. The block shows the status, for example the date the license is active until and your domain. Use Check now to check the status again, Change key to enter another key and Remove key to remove it from this site. The link Manage licenses and domains in your account opens your vibefox.net account.
One key works on one domain. Removing the key from a site does not free its domain slot. Free the slot in your vibefox.net account.
Without an active key, GLS ParcelShop is not shown to customers at checkout. Logged-in store managers still see it, marked (unlicensed — visible to admins only), so you can set up and test the plugin before you buy a key. A reminder appears on the Plugins page and on WooCommerce pages. Existing orders are not affected.
When a license expires, the plugin keeps working, but updates and support need a renewal. The status is checked again automatically in the background.
Troubleshooting
GLS ParcelShop does not appear at checkout: check that the license is active, Enable/Disable is on, and the method is added to the zone of the customer's country (or Ignore shipping zones is on and the country is allowed). Check that the destination country is one of the GLS map countries and has a price (a country row, the * Default row or Fallback cost). Check the weight limits, Minimum cart subtotal and Excluded shipping classes. Turn on Debug log to see the reason in WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
The map does not open: the customer sees "The GLS ParcelShop map could not be loaded..." when the GLS script is blocked, for example by an ad or privacy blocker, a content security policy or a GLS outage. Allow map.gls-croatia.com in your content security policy.
Delivery is free for a country by mistake: check the row of that country in Country prices. A row where the Price and all weight columns are 0 gives free delivery.
The table or a field was not saved: a value is not a valid number. The message at the top of the page names the value. Use digits with a comma or a point as the decimal separator.
Developer filters: vfd_glps_map_countries changes the list of GLS map countries, vfd_glps_widget_url changes the URL of the GLS map script.
The license block shows an error: follow the message in the block. For example, if the key is already used on another domain, free a slot in your vibefox.net account and click Check now. If the site address changed, click Check now to activate the key for the new domain. If the license server cannot be reached, the plugin keeps working on the last known status.
Uninstall
Deactivating the plugin keeps all data. To remove it, deactivate and delete it on the Plugins page. The license key and license status of this plugin are always removed, together with old caches and the log file of version 1.0. Settings and zone instances of the method are removed only if Remove data on uninstall was on. Otherwise they stay for a later re-install. The ParcelShop saved in orders is always kept, and existing orders keep their shipping lines.
