VibeFox Sessions MT5 — Help
An indicator for MetaTrader 5 that displays the New York, London, and Tokyo trading sessions directly on the chart as colored highlights. It supports notifications when a session opens and a convenient control panel.
Installation
Copy the VibeFox_Sessions folder into the MQL5/Indicators directory of your MetaTrader 5 terminal. Restart the terminal or refresh the indicator list and drag VibeFox_Sessions.mq5 onto the desired chart.
Main Panel
Each of the three panel rows controls one session: New York, London, Tokyo. The row contains: a session on/off button (green when enabled), a colored square for choosing the highlight color, the current time in that city, the open and close time fields (hours and minutes), and a Reset button to return to the default values.
Default Sessions
New York: 13:30 — 20:00 UTC. London: 07:00 — 15:30 UTC. Tokyo: 00:00 — 06:00 UTC. All times are given in UTC; the indicator automatically converts them to broker time, taking into account the offset specified in the UTC field.
Configuring Session Time
Hours are set with the minus and plus buttons within the range 0..23. Minutes are toggled between 0 and 30 using the same buttons. If, after making changes, you need to return to the exchange standard — click Reset on the right side of the row.
Session Color
The colored square to the right of the session name opens a color picker dropdown: a palette of 144 shades and grayscale gradations, a HEX field for precise input, and a transparency slider (0—100%). Changes are applied immediately.
City Times
To the right of the colored square, the current time in that time zone is shown: NY — UTC-5, LDN — UTC+0, TKY — UTC+9. The time updates once a minute. If the broker's trading server is stopped (weekends), the city times do not update — the moment of the last tick is shown.
Bottom Row
The bottom row of the panel contains the global parameters: UTC offset, the Bars field, and the Local and Server time display.
UTC Offset
The UTC field sets the difference between the broker's time and UTC in hours. For example, if your server runs on GMT+3 — set 3. Without the correct value, sessions will be drawn with an offset.
Bars Parameter
The Bars field sets the number of recent bars on which the indicator draws the session highlights. The default is 500. Reduce it to speed up rendering on old charts.
Local and Server
Local — the local time of your computer. Server — the time of the broker's trading server. Convenient for monitoring desynchronization.
Notifications
On the Settings tab there are four notification checkboxes. The notification arrives exactly once when each enabled session opens.
Push (mobile MetaTrader)
Set up your MetaQuotes ID in Tools → Options → Notifications. Without this, SendNotification() will silently fail.
Alert
A pop-up window directly in the terminal. It requires no configuration.
The SMTP server is configured in Tools → Options → Email. Without configuration, SendMail() will not work.
Telegram
Specify the Bot Token and Chat ID in the indicator's inputs (you can create a bot via @BotFather) and add https://api.telegram.org to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → allowed WebRequest URLs.
Settings Tab
Adjusts the appearance of the panel and the behavior of the assistant.
Panel Sizes
Width 1—6, row height 1—6, font size 6—12, header size (S/M/L/XL).
Theme
Switching Dark/Light determines the panel's color scheme. By default it is selected automatically based on the chart's background color.
Additional Options
"Hide Helpbar" hides the bottom hint row. "Mini Header" reduces the header when the panel is collapsed. "Close on click outside" closes the panel when clicking outside of it.
Help Button
The "?" button on the right side of the Settings tab — shows a link to the online documentation (a pop-up window with a URL to copy).
Panel Management
Additional features and panel header buttons.
Panel Header Buttons
The power icon (turn the entire indicator on/off), the gear (switch to the Settings tab), the up-down arrows (switch between the indicator subwindow and the main chart), the cross (close the indicator).
Saving Settings
All changes made from the panel (colors, times, notification checkboxes) are saved automatically in the terminal's Global Variables and restored on the next launch. The parameters in the input fields are used only on the first launch and on reset.
Multiple Copies on One Chart
You can attach several instances of the indicator to one chart — the Instance parameter in the inputs (1, 2, 3...) sets a unique identifier so that the settings do not conflict.
