VibeFox Ozow for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox Ozow Pay adds Ozow instant EFT (Pay by Bank) to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce for payments in South African rand. The customer chooses Ozow at the payment step and clicks Place Order. Magento places the order in Pending Payment, and the customer goes to the hosted Ozow payment page, chooses a South African bank and approves the payment in the banking app. Ozow also notifies the store directly, so the payment is confirmed even if the customer closes the browser. The order is invoiced only after Ozow confirms the payment, and the order e-mail is sent only then.

It suits South African stores that want bank payments without card fees or a card form. The module takes one-time payments in ZAR only. It has no refunds from Magento (refund in the Ozow merchant dashboard), no authorization and later capture, no subscriptions, no saved bank accounts and no payments for orders created in the Admin.

Key features

Hosted Ozow page: the customer pays on the Ozow page. The payment request for the order total is signed with your Private Key (Ozow HashCheck, SHA-512).

Paid only when Ozow confirms: an Ozow answer is accepted only if its SHA-512 hash verifies with your Private Key, its Site Code is yours and it belongs to this payment attempt of the order.

Optional API check: with an API Key, every successful payment is also confirmed with the Ozow GetTransaction API before the order is invoiced.

Amount and currency check: the paid amount in cents and the currency are compared with the order. A mismatch puts the order On Hold with a note and without an invoice.

No double processing: the notification and the customer return are processed the same way under a per-cart lock, so repeats never invoice an order twice. A second payment of the same cart is flagged with a note, and a cancelled order is never re-opened.

Test mode: test payments with the same Site Code and keys; a test payment never pays an order while the module is live. Warnings on the settings page, at checkout and in the order notes.

Cancelled payments: a cancelled or failed payment cancels the waiting order and gives the cart back, with a message to try again.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Payment Methods configuration page, with encrypted keys, the callback URLs shown on the page, countries and minimum and maximum order totals, an Ozow block on the admin order page and a log without keys, hashes or e-mail addresses.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. Order currency South African rand (ZAR). An Ozow merchant account with the Site Code and Private Key, and optionally the API Key. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
