VibeFox Estafeta for WooCommerce — Help
Requirements
WordPress: 5.8 or later.
WooCommerce: 7.0 or later, installed and active. The plugin refuses to activate without it.
PHP: 8.0 or later.
DrEnvio account (for live rates only): live Estafeta rates come from DrEnvio, an Estafeta partner in Mexico. Create an account at drenvio.com, enable Estafeta, set up your pickup address there and copy the API key from the DrEnvio panel. It is the same key the official DrEnvio plugin uses. If you only use your own prices, you do not need a DrEnvio account.
Products: products need a weight for live rates.
VibeFox license key: bought on vibefox.net. One key works on one domain.
Installation
1. In WordPress go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the plugin ZIP file and click Install Now. You can also upload the vfd_estafeta folder to /wp-content/plugins/ by FTP.
2. Click Activate.
3. Open the settings: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox Estafeta, or click Settings under the plugin name on the Plugins page.
4. Enter your VibeFox license key in the license block at the top of the page and click Activate.
5. Enter the DrEnvio API key and, optionally, the origin postcode. If your store currency is not MXN, enter the MXN exchange rate. Set a country price for MX or a fallback cost if the method should stay visible when DrEnvio has no rate.
6. Add VibeFox Estafeta to your Mexico zone in WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping zones, or turn on Ignore shipping zones and choose countries.
Configuration
All settings are on one page: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox Estafeta. They apply to every shipping zone. When you add the method to a zone, the zone window has only one field:
Title (zone): the name of this option at checkout. Leave it empty to use the global Name.
At the top of the page the plugin shows warnings: no DrEnvio API key, a store currency other than MXN without an exchange rate, or no country price for MX and no fallback cost (the method is then hidden when there is no live rate). Every time you save the settings, the cached DrEnvio rates are cleared. Number fields accept a decimal point or comma. A value that is not a valid number is cleared and reported when you save.
General
Enable/Disable: turns Estafeta shipping on or off in all zones at once. Default: on.
Name: the shipping method name shown to the customer at checkout. Default: Estafeta.
Tax status: Taxable lets WooCommerce add tax on top of the shipping cost, None does not. Whether DrEnvio prices include IVA depends on your DrEnvio account. If they already include IVA, choose None. Default: Taxable.
Live rates (DrEnvio API)
The cheapest Estafeta service for the address is offered. Without a key the prices in the next section are used.
DrEnvio API key: the API key from your DrEnvio panel.
Origin country: the two-letter country code of the pickup address. Default: MX. Sent only together with the origin postcode.
Origin postcode: the 5-digit postcode of the pickup address. Leave it empty to use the origin address saved in your DrEnvio account. A postcode that does not have 5 digits is cleared when you save.
MXN exchange rate: DrEnvio quotes in Mexican pesos. Only needed if your store currency is not MXN: the value of 1 MXN in your store currency, for example 0.05. Without it live rates are not used.
Prices without a live rate
Used when there is no API key or DrEnvio returns no Estafeta rate (API down, unknown postcode, no postcode entered yet). Prices are in your store currency.
Country prices: one destination country per line in the format CC:PRICE, for example MX:150. Use a decimal point or comma, no thousands separator. Parts in another format are ignored and reported when you save.
Fallback cost: the price when there is no live rate and no country price. Leave it empty to hide the method; 0 means free shipping.
Calculation type: Per order charges the price once. Per item (price x number of items) multiplies it by the number of shippable items. This applies to Country prices and Fallback cost. A live DrEnvio rate is always the price of the whole parcel.
Conditions
Free shipping from: shipping is free when the cart subtotal reaches this amount. No DrEnvio request is made then. Leave it empty to never give free shipping.
Minimum subtotal: show the method only when the cart subtotal is at least this amount. Leave it empty to always show it.
Min weight (kg): the minimum cart weight for the method to appear. 0 means no limit.
Max weight (kg): the maximum cart weight. The method is hidden if it is exceeded. Default: 30. 0 means no limit.
Excluded shipping classes: if any cart item belongs to one of these WooCommerce shipping classes, the method is hidden.
Product weights are converted from your store unit to kg.
Availability without shipping zones
Ignore shipping zones: offer the method for the countries below even without adding it to a shipping zone.
Countries: the destination countries for that mode. Leave empty for all countries. Used only when Ignore shipping zones is on.
Advanced
Debug log: logs API requests and rate calculation to WooCommerce > Status > Logs, source vfd-estafeta. API errors are always logged. The API key and customer addresses are never logged.
Remove data on uninstall: when on, deleting the plugin removes all plugin settings and zone methods. Deactivating the plugin never deletes anything.
How it works at checkout
When the customer enters a delivery address, WooCommerce asks the plugin for a rate. The plugin first checks the cart weight, the minimum subtotal and the excluded shipping classes. If free shipping applies, the method is shown with a zero price and no request goes to DrEnvio.
Otherwise the plugin sends DrEnvio the destination country and postcode, the cart weight, the number of items and the subtotal, and the origin postcode if you set one. Mexican postcodes must have 5 digits; until the customer enters one, no request is made. DrEnvio returns quotes of all carriers of your account. The plugin uses only Estafeta quotes, ignores zero prices, picks the cheapest one and converts it to your store currency. The Estafeta service and delivery time are saved with the shipping line of the order and shown on the admin order screen.
Each answer is cached for 1 hour. A failed request or a route without an Estafeta rate is remembered for 5 minutes, so a slow or broken API never stalls every checkout update. The API timeout is 12 seconds. In these cases the customer sees no error: the country price or the fallback cost is used, or the method is hidden if neither is set.
The method works on the classic checkout and on the Cart and Checkout blocks. It is compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).
The plugin calculates rates only. It does not create shipments, print labels (guías) or track parcels; create the shipment in your DrEnvio or Estafeta account. The customer cannot choose a specific Estafeta service or an Estafeta office, and exchange rates are not updated automatically.
License key
The plugin works with a VibeFox license key from vibefox.net. The license block is at the top of WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > VibeFox Estafeta. Paste the key into License key and click Activate. The block shows the status, for example the date the license is active until and your domain. Use Check now to check the status again, Change key to enter another key and Remove key to remove it from this site. The link Manage licenses and domains in your account opens your vibefox.net account.
One key works on one domain. Removing the key from a site does not free its domain slot. Free the slot in your vibefox.net account.
Without an active key, Estafeta is not shown to customers at checkout. Logged-in store managers still see it, marked (unlicensed — visible to admins only), so you can set up and test the plugin before you buy a key. A reminder appears on the Plugins page and on WooCommerce pages. Existing orders are not affected.
When a license expires, the plugin keeps working, but updates and support need a renewal. The status is checked again automatically in the background.
Troubleshooting
Estafeta does not appear at checkout: check that the license is active, Enable/Disable is on, and the method is added to the zone of the customer's country (or Ignore shipping zones is on and the country is allowed). Check the notices at the top of the settings page, the weight limits, Minimum subtotal and Excluded shipping classes. Without an API key or when DrEnvio has no Estafeta rate, the method needs a country price for the destination or a fallback cost.
Live rates do not appear: turn on Debug log, reload the checkout and open WooCommerce > Status > Logs, source vfd-estafeta. It shows the reason: no API key, no exchange rate for a non-MXN store, a missing or invalid postcode, a rejected API key (HTTP 401 or 403), or no Estafeta rate for the route.
Does the price include IVA? That depends on your DrEnvio account. If the DrEnvio prices already include IVA, set Tax status to None.
Rates look outdated after a change: save the settings page. This clears the cached DrEnvio rates.
The license block shows an error: follow the message in the block. For example, if the key is already used on another domain, free a slot in your vibefox.net account and click Check now. If the site address changed, click Check now to activate the key for the new domain. If the license server cannot be reached, the plugin keeps working on the last known status.
Uninstall
Deactivating the plugin keeps all settings and only clears the rate cache. To remove it, deactivate and delete it on the Plugins page. The license key and license status of this plugin, cached rates and old log files are always removed. Settings and zone methods are removed only if Remove data on uninstall was on. Otherwise they stay for a later re-install. Orders are never touched, and existing orders keep their shipping lines.
