Overview
WC Flutterwave Payment adds Flutterwave payments to WooCommerce through the Flutterwave hosted checkout page (Flutterwave Standard, API v3). After placing the order, the customer pays on the Flutterwave page with any method enabled on your Flutterwave account, such as cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfer, USSD, mobile money (M-Pesa, MTN, Airtel and others), Barter, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and comes back to your store.
It suits stores in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, East and Francophone Africa and stores that accept international cards. The order is always charged in the order currency. The plugin takes one-time payments only. It has no inline or modal checkout on your site, no saved cards, subscriptions, split payments or payment plans, and refunds made in the Flutterwave dashboard are not synced back to WooCommerce.
Key features
Hosted checkout: a payment is created for the order total in the order currency, rounded to the precision of the currency (XOF, XAF, UGX, RWF and others have no decimals). You can limit the payment options shown on the Flutterwave page.
Paid only when Flutterwave confirms: neither the return URL nor the webhook body is trusted. Every payment is re-read on your server from Flutterwave, and the order is paid only when the reference belongs to the order, the status is successful and the amount and currency match.
Signed webhooks: webhooks are accepted only with your secret hash. They confirm the payment even when the customer closes the browser.
No double processing: repeated webhooks and returns never add notes, e-mails or stock changes twice. An older payment link paid later is still accepted, and a second payment for a paid order is flagged for refund.
Pending methods handled: bank transfers, USSD and mobile money leave the order Pending payment until Flutterwave confirms them.
Refunds: full and partial refunds from the WooCommerce order screen, with the key of the mode the payment was made in.
Test and live: separate secret keys. A test key in live mode, or a live key in test mode, hides the payment method and shows a warning.
Modern WooCommerce: classic checkout, Checkout block, the Pay for order page, HPOS. Optional Autocomplete Orders. Log without keys or customer data. French translation included.
