VibeFox Ultimate Osc is a real-time momentum indicator for MetaTrader 5 built on Larry Williams’ Ultimate Oscillator. It blends buying pressure across three periods into one smooth 0-100 line, draws the overbought and oversold levels right in its own subwindow, marks each mean-reversion entry directly on the price chart, and gathers every control into one modern interactive panel. Instead of reading three separate oscillators, you watch a single weighted line and see each reversal entry the moment the oscillator leaves an extreme zone.

How the indicator works

The Ultimate Oscillator was designed by Larry Williams to solve a classic problem of single-period momentum tools: they give false divergence signals because they react to only one time horizon. The Ultimate Oscillator instead combines three periods — fast, mid and slow — into one value, so a signal must be confirmed across several horizons before it registers.

For every bar the indicator computes two quantities. Buying Pressure (BP) is the close minus the true low, where the true low is the lower of the current low and the previous close. True Range (TR) is the true high minus the true low. For each of the three periods it then divides the sum of BP by the sum of TR, giving three averages that measure how much of the range was driven by buyers. These three averages are combined with fixed weights — 4 for the fast period, 2 for the mid, 1 for the slow — and scaled to a 0-100 reading:

UO = 100 × (4·Avgfast + 2·Avgmid + 1·Avgslow) / 7.

The fast period carries the most weight so the line stays responsive, while the mid and slow periods anchor it and filter noise. The result is plotted as a single line in the indicator’s own subwindow, together with the overbought and oversold level lines.

Overbought and oversold zones

A high Ultimate Oscillator reading means buyers have dominated the range across all three periods — the market is overbought. A low reading means sellers have dominated — the market is oversold. The OB level (default 70) marks the upper extreme and the OS level (default 30) marks the lower extreme; a mid line is drawn automatically halfway between them. When the oscillator pushes into a zone and then turns back out of it, momentum is exhausting and a reversion toward the middle becomes likely.

Mean-reversion entries

The main value of VibeFox Ultimate Osc is its automatic mean-reversion entries. The Revert toggle enables them. An entry is confirmed only on a closed bar, so signals never repaint on the forming candle.

A BUY is placed when the oscillator was at or below the Oversold level and then closes back above it — the down-move has been rejected and price is expected to revert upward. A SELL is placed when the oscillator was at or above the Overbought level and then closes back below it — the up-move has been rejected and price is expected to revert downward. Each entry is drawn as a clear marker on the price chart at the price of the signal bar.

Entry markers

Buy and sell markers are colored separately with the Buy and Sell color settings, so direction is read instantly. The Marker selector switches the glyph between a plain cross (+), filled triangles, or arrows with a tail, while the Size control scales the marker in pixels (6 to 40) to fit any chart density.

Full visual control

The oscillator line color is set with Line and the thickness with Width from 1 to 5 pixels. The Overbought and Oversold level lines have their own OB and OS colors. The line and both entry markers each support a transparency setting (0-100%) in the color picker popup, so you can blend them softly into the chart. The Bars setting limits how much history is scanned for entries — set it to 0 to scan all available bars, or use a smaller value for faster redraws on heavy charts.

Interactive on-chart panel

The whole interface is a smooth canvas-based panel built for fast mouse control. The three periods and the OB/OS levels are gathered into tidy rows, and the entry block is set apart with its own gold ENTRY heading, so signal settings do not get mixed up with line settings. The panel header holds the control icons.

Power — turns the drawing of entry markers on and off without removing the indicator from the chart.

Settings (gear) — opens and closes the settings section.

Updown (arrows) — moves the panel between its subwindow and the main chart.

Close (cross) — closes the indicator.

Resizable — drag the bottom-right corner to scale the panel.

Collapsible — a double click on the header collapses the panel into a compact strip.

Mouse wheel — hover over any numeric field and scroll the wheel to change the value without opening the keyboard.

Settings and personalization

The Settings button opens a section where the panel is fitted to your workspace: a light, dark or automatic Theme, an adjustable panel width, header size, row height and font size. Extra touches let you hide the bottom bar via Hide Footer, shrink the header when collapsed with Mini Header, and automatically collapse the panel on a click outside it. Almost every parameter changes live right on the panel — the input fields on the Inputs tab only set the starting values. You can also run several independent copies on one chart by giving each a unique Instance, to compare different settings side by side.

Entry notifications

You do not need to sit and guard the chart waiting for a reversal. Each entry can be sent through several notification channels that are enabled independently right on the panel.

Alert — a pop-up message inside the terminal.

Push — a mobile notification to the MetaTrader app on your phone.

Email — a letter sent through the terminal’s mail settings.

Telegram — the alert text together with a chart screenshot, sent straight to your Telegram chat.

Enable only the channels you need, and you will be notified the moment a new Ultimate Oscillator entry appears on the symbol and timeframe you are working with.

Visual history (HTML report)

Enable the Html channel, and every entry signal is saved to an HTML report together with a screenshot of the chart at the moment it fired. The report is stored in the terminal’s Files folder, in the VibeFox_Ultimate_Osc directory (MQL5/Files/VibeFox_Ultimate_Osc/result.html), and opens in any browser — you get a visual log of every reversal the indicator caught. A one-click trash button clears the report and its screenshots whenever you want to start over.

Telegram Alerts

Signals can also be delivered straight to your Telegram chat — the alert text together with a screenshot of the chart at the moment of detection. Turn on the Telegram channel and enter your bot token and chat id in the inputs.

Delivery rides on the HTML report: each new signal is written into the report, and the report — opened in a browser — forwards it to your Telegram chat on its own. For this reason, enabling Telegram automatically keeps the Html report on, and the two channels work together.
