VibeFox Packeta for PrestaShop — Help

Requirements

PrestaShop: 8.0 to 9.x.

PHP: 8.0 or later. The module refuses to install on older PHP versions.

Packeta API key: you find it in the Packeta client section (client.packeta.com) under Client support. It has 16 letters and digits. The widget needs it to open at checkout, so the carrier is shown to customers only after the API key is entered.

Countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary or Romania must be active countries of your shop, in a zone the carrier is linked to.

VibeFox license key: bought on vibefox.net. One key works on one domain.

Installation

1. In the back office go to Modules > Module Manager and click Upload a module. Choose the module ZIP file.

2. When the upload finishes, click Configure, or find VibeFox Packeta in the module list later and click Configure.

3. Paste your VibeFox license key into License key in the license block at the top of the Configure page and click Activate (see License key).

4. Enter your Packeta API key and your prices: at least one Country prices row (for example * Default) or a Fallback cost. Click Save. The page shows whether Packeta accepted the key.

On install the module creates the carrier Packeta pickup point with the delivery time text Packeta pickup point or Z-BOX. It is linked to the zones of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania and to all customer groups. You can change zones, customer groups, delivery time and logo in Shipping > Carriers. Do not set prices there: the price always comes from the module.

Configuration

All settings are on the module page: Modules > Module Manager > VibeFox Packeta > Configure. Each section has its own Save button, which saves the whole page.

The carrier is offered only for the countries of the Packeta own pickup-point network: CZ, SK, HU and RO. Above the settings the page shows the result of the API key check and warnings about problems: no API key, no price, selected countries outside the Packeta network, a missing carrier, or a shop weight unit the module does not know.

All prices and limits accept a comma or a point as the decimal separator (4,99 or 4.99). An invalid or negative number is refused with a message, and the previous value is kept.

General

Enable/Disable: turns Packeta at checkout on or off.

Name: the carrier name shown to the customer. It is also the carrier name in Shipping > Carriers. Default: Packeta pickup point. Required, at most 64 characters.

API key: your Packeta API key from client.packeta.com > Client support. You may also paste the 32-character API password: only its first 16 characters, which are the API key, are saved. The API key is public: it is sent to the customer's browser to open the widget. When you save a new key, it is checked against the Packeta carrier feed, and the page shows Packeta API key verified or that Packeta rejected it. If the check cannot run, the key is saved and checked again the next time you save.

Widget language: the language of the pickup-point widget. Store / visitor language (default) follows the language of the page. You can also fix it to Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, English, German, Polish or Ukrainian.

Pickup point types: which Packeta points the widget offers.

Pickup points and Z-BOX: all points (default).
Pickup points only (Z-Point, no Z-BOX): staffed pickup points only.
Z-BOX only: Packeta parcel boxes only.

Tax status: the tax rules applied to the shipping price. None (no tax on shipping) or Taxable with one of your tax rules groups. The choice is saved to the carrier.

Prices

Packeta has no public rate API. Prices come from this table and are entered in your default shop currency, tax excluded. Customers paying in another currency see the converted price.

Calculation type: Per order charges the price once. Per item (price x quantity) multiplies it by the number of physical items in the cart.

Country prices: a price per destination country and parcel weight. Click Add country to add a row and the cross to remove one. Each row has a Price and weight columns: XS up to 1 kg, S 1–2 kg, M 2–3 kg, L 3–5 kg and XL over 5 kg. A weight column left at 0 uses the Price column. The * Default row is used for countries without their own row. A new row starts as * Default with all prices at 0, which means free shipping. Choose the country and enter the prices before you save, or remove the row. If the same country (or * Default) is in two rows, only the first one is kept when you save. If a value in the table is not a valid number, the table is not saved and the page lists the wrong values.

Fallback cost: used when the country table has no row for the destination and no * Default row. Leave it empty to not offer the carrier there.

Free shipping from: the cart subtotal (after discounts, without tax) from which Packeta delivery is free. It is checked before the price table: from this amount delivery is free in every Packeta country where the carrier is offered, even one without a country row or fallback cost. Leave empty to never offer free shipping.

Availability

Minimum weight (kg): hide the carrier when the cart weighs less. The cart weight is converted from your shop weight unit. Empty or 0 means no limit.

Maximum weight (kg): hide the carrier when the cart weighs more. Default: 15. Packeta pickup points and Z-BOXes usually accept parcels up to 15 kg; check your Packeta contract. Empty or 0 means no limit. A minimum weight greater than the maximum is refused when you save, and both previous values are kept.

Minimum cart subtotal: offer the carrier only when the cart subtotal (after discounts, without tax) reaches this amount.

Ignore shipping zones: when on, the carrier is linked to all zones and offered for the countries selected below. Zones created later are linked at once. When you switch it off, the carrier gets back the zones it had before. When off, it is offered only in the zones set for the carrier in Shipping > Carriers.

Countries (ignore zones mode): the destination countries for that mode. Leave empty to use all Packeta countries. Countries outside the Packeta pickup-point network are skipped. Hold Ctrl and click to select several. This field is used only when Ignore shipping zones is on.

Advanced

Debug log: writes rate calculations and pickup point choices to modules/vfd_packeta/logs/. The file cannot be opened from the web. No customer personal data and no API key are logged. Errors and failed API key checks are always logged. Turn the log off when you are done.

Log (last lines): shows the latest entries of the debug log. Click Clear log to empty it.

Remove data on uninstall: when on, uninstalling the module deletes the settings and the log. The pickup point saved in orders is always kept.

How it works at checkout

At the shipping step PrestaShop asks the module for the Packeta price. Only physical products count: virtual products add no weight and are not included in the subtotal. The module checks the conditions: delivery country in the Packeta network, API key, the country list in ignore zones mode, cart weight and minimum cart subtotal. If free shipping applies, the price is 0. Otherwise the price comes from the country table, then from the fallback cost. If there is no price, the carrier is hidden.

When the customer selects the Packeta carrier, a Choose pickup point button appears below it. It opens the official Packeta widget in the customer's browser with the destination country, the cart weight, the chosen point types and the widget language. After the customer picks a point, its name and address are shown under the carrier, and the button changes to Change pickup point. The point is saved with the cart and kept when the page reloads. A point chosen for another country is dropped when the delivery address changes.

Nothing is requested from Packeta by your server at checkout. The widget script is loaded from widget.packeta.com. If it is blocked (an ad or privacy blocker, a content security policy, a Packeta outage), the customer sees "The Packeta pickup point widget could not be loaded. Please reload the page or choose another shipping method."

If you edit the carrier in Shipping > Carriers after it has orders, PrestaShop saves it as a new carrier version. The module follows the new version automatically.

Packeta prices are not requested live; they come from your table. The module does not create Packeta shipments, print labels or track parcels, and it does not offer home delivery or partner-carrier pickup points out of the box. Hand the pickup point ID from the order to Packeta in your usual way, for example by import in client.packeta.com.

Pickup points

The pickup point is required. If the customer clicks Continue at the shipping step without choosing one, the step is not completed and the customer sees "Please choose a Packeta pickup point." If the chosen point is in another country than the delivery address, the customer sees "The selected Packeta pickup point is not in your shipping country. Please choose a pickup point again." The module does not verify the point ID with Packeta; it checks that a point was chosen and that its country matches.

The point is attached to the order when the order is created:

Back office order page: a Packeta pickup point block with the name, address, Pickup point ID and country. If a Packeta order has no point, the block says "No pickup point was selected for this order."

Order confirmation and order detail pages: Packeta pickup point: with the name and address.

Order e-mails: the point name and address are added to the carrier in the order confirmation e-mail. The merchant new order e-mail also includes the Pickup point ID.

The point is stored in the module table vfd_pckt_point (cart, order, point ID, name and address, country).

License key

The module works with a VibeFox license key from vibefox.net. The license block License — VibeFox Packeta is the first block on Modules > Module Manager > VibeFox Packeta > Configure, above the settings. Paste the key into License key and click Activate. After that the block shows the key masked, the status (for example the date the license is active until and your domain) and the buttons Check now to check the status again, Change key to enter another key and Remove key to remove the key from this shop. Below them are the line Product: presta-shipping-packeta and the link Manage licenses and domains in your account, which opens your vibefox.net account. Only employees with the Configure permission for the module can change the key. The texts of the block follow the back office language (English and Russian are included).

If the key is not accepted, the block says why, for example Key not found, This key belongs to another product, Domain limit reached or License expired on a date. After the shop address changes, or after you free a domain slot in your account, click Check now. If the license server cannot be reached, the module keeps working on the last known status.

One key works on one domain: the domain of the main shop, also in a multistore setup. Removing the key from the shop does not free its domain slot. Free the slot in your vibefox.net account.

Without an active key, the Packeta carrier is not shown to customers at checkout and no rate is calculated. The PrestaShop storefront does not know that you are logged in to the back office, so the carrier is hidden for you too: you can set up the module before you buy a key, but not test it at checkout. A reminder appears in Modules > Module Manager on the Alerts tab. Existing orders are not affected.

When a license expires, the module keeps working, but updates and support need a renewal. The status is checked again automatically while you work in the back office: once a day for the first 14 days after the key is entered, then once a week. No cron job is needed. Uninstalling or resetting the module always removes the license key and license status.

Troubleshooting

Packeta does not appear at checkout: check that the license is active, Enable/Disable is on, the API key is entered and the delivery country is CZ, SK, HU or RO. Check that a price is set for the country (country row, * Default row or Fallback cost), the weight and subtotal limits, and that the carrier covers the zone of the customer's country and the customer's group in Shipping > Carriers (or Ignore shipping zones is on). Products can also be limited to certain carriers in the product page. The settings page lists configuration problems at the top. Turn on Debug log to see the reason in Log (last lines).

Packeta rejected the API key: copy the API key again from client.packeta.com > Client support and save. Until then the widget cannot open at checkout.

The widget does not open: the Packeta script is blocked by an ad or privacy blocker, a content security policy or a Packeta outage. Allow widget.packeta.com in your content security policy. Developers can change the script URL with the actionVfdPcktWidgetUrl hook.

Shipping is free by mistake: check Country prices for rows with a Price of 0, especially a * Default row added with Add country and left unfilled, and check Free shipping from.

Weight limits or weight columns look wrong: if the page warns about the shop weight unit, set kg, g, lb or oz in International > Localization (Local units). Other units are read as kilograms.

Other countries or carriers: out of the box the carrier works for CZ, SK, HU and RO. Developers can add countries with the actionVfdPcktCountries hook and pass carrier IDs to the widget with the actionVfdPcktWidgetOptions hook.

The page says the Packeta carrier is missing: the carrier was deleted in Shipping > Carriers. Reset the module in Modules > Module Manager to create it again.

Uninstall

Go to Modules > Module Manager, open the menu next to VibeFox Packeta and choose Uninstall. The license key and the license status are always removed. The Packeta carrier is always removed (orders keep their carrier), together with the stored API key check. If Remove data on uninstall is on, the settings, the log and the pickup points of carts that never became orders are deleted. If it is off, the settings are kept for a re-install, which creates the carrier again. Existing orders always keep the saved pickup point.
