Overview
VibeFox Estafeta adds an Estafeta carrier for Mexico to PrestaShop. Live rates come from the DrEnvio API (drenvio.com, an Estafeta partner in Mexico): the module asks DrEnvio for a quote with the destination postcode and the cart weight and offers the cheapest Estafeta service for that address. Your own prices per country are used when there is no live rate.
It suits Mexican shops that ship with Estafeta through a DrEnvio account, or that want a fixed Estafeta price without an account. The module calculates shipping rates at checkout. It does not create shipments, print labels (guías) or track parcels, does not let the customer choose an Estafeta service or office, and has no automatic exchange rates.
Key features
Live Estafeta rates: DrEnvio quotes several carriers, and only Estafeta rates are used. The cheapest Estafeta service for the address is offered.
Service saved with the order: the Estafeta service, delivery time, price source and calculated price are stored when the order is placed and shown in an Estafeta block on the back office order page.
Your own prices: prices per destination country and a fallback cost are used when there is no API key or DrEnvio has no Estafeta rate. If neither is set, the carrier is hidden instead of showing a wrong price.
Safe currency handling: DrEnvio quotes in Mexican pesos. If your default currency is not MXN, you enter the MXN exchange rate. Without it live rates are not used. The price is shown in the customer's cart currency.
Fast checkout: rates are cached for 1 hour and failed requests for 5 minutes, so a slow API never stalls every checkout update.
Shipping rules: free shipping from a subtotal, minimum subtotal, minimum and maximum weight, per order or per item for your own prices, carrier tax rule.
Standard PrestaShop carrier: the carrier is created on install. Zones, customer groups and size limits are managed in Shipping > Carriers as usual, or you can offer it for a list of countries with Ignore shipping zones.
Debug log in the back office: view and clear the log on the module page. The API key and customer addresses are never logged.
Requirements
PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x, PHP 8.0 or later with the cURL extension. Live rates need a DrEnvio account with Estafeta enabled and its API key, and products need weights. Your own prices work without an account. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
