VibeFox Econt for PrestaShop — Help
Requirements
PrestaShop: 8.0 to 9.x.
PHP: 8.0 or later. The module refuses to install on older PHP versions.
Econt: no contract or API key is needed. The office list is a public Econt nomenclature. Only the country code is sent to Econt, no customer data. Fill in an e-Econt username and password only if Econt asks your shop for authorization. The e-Econt login is described on the Econt developers page (econt.com/developers).
VibeFox license key: bought on vibefox.net. One key works on one domain.
Installation
1. In the back office go to Modules > Module Manager and click Upload a module. Choose the module ZIP file.
2. When the upload finishes, click Configure, or find VibeFox Econt in the module list later and click Configure.
3. Paste your VibeFox license key into License key in the license block at the top of the Configure page and click Activate (see License key).
4. Set the prices per country and check the other options (see Configuration), then click Save. Click Load offices from Econt now to test the connection.
On install the module creates the Econt Express carrier with the delivery time text Delivery to an Econt office or Econtomat. The carrier is assigned to the zones of Bulgaria and Romania and to all customer groups. You can change zones, customer groups, delivery time, logo and size limits in Shipping > Carriers. Do not set prices there: the price always comes from the module.
Configuration
All settings are on the module page: Modules > Module Manager > VibeFox Econt > Configure. Each section has its own Save button, which saves the whole page. The price and conditions apply to every zone of the carrier.
At the top of the page the module shows warnings: the Econt carrier was not found, the demo API is on, no price is set for Bulgaria or Romania (the carrier is then never shown), the last office request for a country failed, or your shop weight unit is not known to the module (weights are then taken as kg; set the unit in International > Localization, Local units). Number fields accept a decimal comma, for example 5,99. If a number field contains something that is not a number or a negative number, or Minimum weight (kg) is greater than Maximum weight (kg), an error names the field and nothing is saved.
General
Enable/Disable: turns Econt delivery on or off. This is the same switch as the carrier status in Shipping > Carriers.
Name: the carrier name shown in the cart and at checkout. Default: Econt Express. Required, at most 64 characters.
Tax: the tax rule of the carrier, or No tax. PrestaShop adds this tax on top of the prices below. With No tax the prices are final.
Econt office list
Offices and Econtomats are loaded from the Econt API and cached for 24 hours.
Demo API: use the Econt demo API with test data. Keep it off on a live shop. Demo offices have other IDs than the real ones. In demo mode the public Econt test account is used when no login is set.
Econt username: optional. Your e-Econt login for HTTP Basic authorization.
Econt password: optional. Stored in the shop database and never written to the log. After saving, the field stays empty and shows Saved - leave empty to keep it. Type a new value only to change it. Tick Remove the saved password and save to delete it.
Office list: shows how many offices are cached per country and when they were loaded. The button Load offices from Econt now reloads the lists immediately and shows the result per country. If a load fails, the offices from the last successful load are kept. Without this button, the list is loaded automatically at the first checkout. Changing Demo API, the username or the password clears the cached lists.
Office selector at checkout
Show: which points customers can choose.
City order: show the largest cities first (Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Bucharest and others). When off, cities are sorted alphabetically. Default: on.
City list width: the CSS width of the city list, for example 100% or 300px. Default: 100%.
Office list width: the CSS width of the office list, for example 100% or 400px. Default: 100%.
Prices (the section title shows your shop default currency)
Prices are in your shop default currency, tax excluded. The module does not ask Econt for live rates. Bulgaria uses the euro since 1 January 2026, so a Bulgarian shop normally enters EUR prices.
Price per country: one country per line (or comma separated): country code, colon, price, for example BG:5.99 and RO:8.99 (these are the defaults). A decimal comma is fine: BG:5,99. A price of 0 means free delivery. If the field is empty, the default prices BG:5.99 and RO:8.99 are used (with Ignore zones, countries outside the carrier zones then get no price). Entries in another format are ignored and listed in a warning when you save. The rest is saved.
Calculation: Per order charges the price once. Per item (price x quantity) multiplies it by the number of items that need shipping.
Price for other countries: used for an Econt country (Bulgaria or Romania) that is not listed above. Empty or 0 hides the carrier there.
Conditions
Cart subtotal means the products that need shipping, after discounts, before tax.
Free shipping from: the cart subtotal from which delivery is free. Leave it empty to never give free delivery.
Minimum subtotal: show the carrier only when the cart subtotal is at least this amount. Leave it empty to always show it.
Minimum weight (kg): hide the carrier for lighter carts. Product weights are converted from your shop weight unit to kg. Leave it empty for no limit.
Maximum weight (kg): hide the carrier for heavier carts. Leave it empty for no limit.
Availability without shipping zones
Ignore zones: also offer Econt to the countries below when the zone of the delivery address is not linked to the carrier. When you turn it on, the carrier is linked to every active zone, and zones created later are linked too. When you turn it off again, the carrier gets back the zones it had before. Zones that were linked keep working as usual. Econt is still offered only for Bulgaria and Romania.
Countries: Bulgaria and/or Romania. Used only with Ignore zones. None checked means all Econt countries the shop ships to.
Advanced
Debug log: writes debug messages to logs/vfd_ecn_debug.log.php in the module folder. The file cannot be opened from the web. API errors are always logged. No passwords or customer data are written.
Log: shows the size and the latest entries of the log. Click Clear log to empty it.
Remove data on uninstall: when on, uninstalling the module deletes the Econt settings, the carrier and the log. When off, the settings are kept for a re-install. Offices saved in orders are always kept.
How it works at checkout
The carrier is offered only for Bulgaria and Romania. At the shipping step PrestaShop asks the module for the Econt price. Only physical products count: virtual products add no weight and are not included in the subtotal. The module checks the weight limits and the minimum subtotal, then takes the price for the country. If the cart subtotal reaches Free shipping from, the price is 0. If no office list is available for the country, the carrier is hidden, because delivery always goes to an office. The price is calculated in your default currency and then shown in the customer's cart currency.
When the customer selects Econt, two lists appear under the carrier: City and Office / Econtomat. The office list is loaded once per page, only when Econt is selected. Econtomats are marked in the list. The choice is saved to the cart at once. If the office list cannot be loaded, the customer sees Econt offices cannot be loaded right now. Please try again in a few minutes or choose another shipping method.
When the customer clicks Continue in the shipping step, the module checks on the server that an office is chosen and that it exists in the Econt list for the delivery country (filtered by Show). Without an office the customer sees Please select an Econt office or Econtomat. An office that is not in the list is refused with The selected Econt office is not available for the shipping country. Please select it again. The office name is always taken from the Econt list, not from the browser. The selector works with the Classic theme and with Hummingbird.
The office list is cached for 24 hours, separately for the live and the demo API. If Econt cannot be reached, the last good list is used and Econt is not asked again for 10 minutes. The API timeout is 15 seconds. The office list comes from https://ee.econt.com/services/ (live) or https://demo.econt.com/ee/services/ (demo).
If you edit the carrier in Shipping > Carriers after it has orders, PrestaShop saves it as a new carrier version. The module follows the new version automatically.
The module uses fixed prices only. It does not ask Econt for live prices, create waybills or labels, order couriers, track parcels, handle cash on delivery or deliver to an address. Only Bulgaria and Romania have an office list.
Pickup points
When the order is placed, the office chosen for the cart is saved with the order: the city, the office name and address, and the Econt office code. Use the office code when you create the shipment in e-Econt.
Back office order page: a block Econt office / Econtomat shows the office and Office code. Under Change choose another city and office of the order's country and click Save. The change is saved at once and a private order message records the old and the new office. If you click Save without choosing an office, the block says Select a city and an office first - nothing was changed. Any employee who may edit orders can change the office; access to the module page is not needed. If the office list cannot be loaded, the block shows Econt offices cannot be loaded right now.
Several orders from one cart: the office belongs to the first order. Another order placed from the same cart gets no office: an error is written to the log, and its block says that the office of this cart belongs to another order. Agree the office with the customer and create the shipment in e-Econt by hand.
Customer: the office is shown on the customer's order page and on the order confirmation page, and is added to the carrier name in the order confirmation e-mail and in the new order e-mail to the shop.
Office names are shown in the local language (Cyrillic for Bulgaria) when the shop language is Bulgarian or Romanian, and in English otherwise.
License key
The module works with a VibeFox license key from vibefox.net. The license block License — VibeFox Econt is the first block on Modules > Module Manager > VibeFox Econt > Configure, above the settings. Paste the key into License key and click Activate. After that the block shows the key masked, the status (for example the date the license is active until and your domain) and the buttons Check now to check the status again, Change key to enter another key and Remove key to remove the key from this shop. Below them are the line Product: presta-shipping-econt and the link Manage licenses and domains in your account, which opens your vibefox.net account. Only employees with the Configure permission for the module can change the key. The texts of the block follow the back office language (English and Russian are included).
If the key is not accepted, the block says why, for example Key not found, This key belongs to another product, Domain limit reached or License expired on a date. After the shop address changes, or after you free a domain slot in your account, click Check now. If the license server cannot be reached, the module keeps working on the last known status.
One key works on one domain: the domain of the main shop, also in a multistore setup. Removing the key from the shop does not free its domain slot. Free the slot in your vibefox.net account.
Without an active key, the Econt carrier is not shown to customers at checkout and no rate is calculated. The PrestaShop storefront does not know that you are logged in to the back office, so the carrier is hidden for you too: you can set up the module before you buy a key, but not test it at checkout. A reminder appears in Modules > Module Manager on the Alerts tab. Existing orders are not affected.
When a license expires, the module keeps working, but updates and support need a renewal. The status is checked again automatically while you work in the back office: once a day for the first 14 days after the key is entered, then once a week. No cron job is needed. Uninstalling or resetting the module always removes the license key and license status.
Troubleshooting
Econt does not appear at checkout: check that the license is active and Enable/Disable is on, and that the delivery country is Bulgaria or Romania. In Shipping > Carriers check that the carrier covers the zone of the customer's country and the customer's group (or turn on Ignore zones and check Countries). Check that a price is set for the country, the weight limits and Minimum subtotal. Check the Office list line in the settings: the carrier is hidden while no office list is available for the country. Products can also be limited to certain carriers in the product page.
The office list does not load: click Load offices from Econt now and read the result, or the warning at the top of the settings page. Errors are always written to the log; turn on Debug log for more detail and look at the Log field. If Econt requires authorization for your shop, fill in Econt username and Econt password.
Customers see test offices: Demo API is on. Turn it off on a live shop.
Which currency are the prices in? In your shop default currency, tax excluded. Customers see them in their cart currency.
Tax is charged on top of the price: the carrier has a tax rule. Set Tax to No tax if your prices already include VAT.
The page says the Econt carrier was not found: the carrier was deleted in Shipping > Carriers. Reset the module in Modules > Module Manager to create it again.
Uninstall
Go to Modules > Module Manager, open the menu next to VibeFox Econt and choose Uninstall. The license key and license status are always removed. The cached office lists are always removed. If Remove data on uninstall is on, the carrier is deleted (orders keep their history) and the settings and log are removed. If it is off, the carrier is only disabled and all settings are kept. Installing the module again restores the saved carrier with the status it had. Resetting the module keeps the current carrier status. Offices saved in orders are always kept.
