VibeFox MercadoPago for PrestaShop

Overview

VibeFox MercadoPago Gateway adds card payments with the MercadoPago Checkout API to PrestaShop for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. The customer types the card into MercadoPago secure fields on your payment step, and your shop charges the one-time card token on the server. Card data never touches your site. The order is created only after MercadoPago has answered, so a declined card leaves no unpaid order.

It suits Latin American shops that want a card form with installments on their own checkout page. The module takes credit and debit cards only. It has no Checkout Pro redirect, MercadoPago wallet, cash, Pix, PSE or Yape payments, no saved cards or subscriptions, no separate authorize and capture, no 3-D Secure challenge and no currency conversion.

Key features

Secure card fields: card number, expiry and security code are typed into MercadoPago fields on the payment step. Card issuer and cardholder document (DNI, CPF, RUT, CC and others) where the country needs them.

Installments: cuotas or parcelas with the options returned by MercadoPago for the cart total. The maximum you set is also enforced on the server.

Paid only when MercadoPago confirms: the amount and currency of every approved payment are compared with the cart. A difference puts the order in MercadoPago payment on hold with a note.

Payment notifications: payments under review wait in Awaiting MercadoPago payment and are completed automatically. Each one is re-read from the MercadoPago API. Optional signature check.

No double charges: a cart with an order is never charged again, the same card token always uses the same idempotency key, and after a timeout the next attempt first looks the payment up.

Test and production credentials: separate keys, prefix check and account country check when you save. Refunds always use the credentials the payment was made with.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the MercadoPago payment block of the order, up to the amount MercadoPago charged. A full refund sets the order to Refunded.

MercadoPago block on the order page: payment ID, status, installments, refund history and the module's notes.

Requirements

PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x, PHP 8.0 or later. A MercadoPago application with test and production credentials (Public Key and Access Token). The shop currency must be the currency of your MercadoPago account country. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
