Overview

VibeFox Klarna Payments adds Klarna Payments to PrestaShop: customers pay now, pay later or in instalments with the Klarna widget shown inside the payment step, without a redirect. When the customer places the order, Klarna authorizes the purchase in the widget and the module places the Klarna order server-side with the cart data. The order is created only after Klarna answers, so a rejected purchase leaves no unpaid order.

It suits shops in Europe, North America and Oceania with a Klarna merchant account that want Klarna at checkout and control over when the customer is charged. It has no Klarna Checkout (KCO), Express Checkout buttons, On-site messaging, Sign in with Klarna, subscriptions, saved payment methods or partial captures per order line.

Key features

Klarna widget at the payment step: the Klarna session is created from the cart on the server and updated before the purchase is authorized, so the widget always shows the final cart.

Three API regions: Europe, North America and Oceania. Klarna is offered only to customers from the countries of your region paying in the currency of their country.

Capture when you ship: a placed Klarna order is an authorization. By default it is captured when you set the order to a shipped status (Shipped or Delivered). If the capture fails, the status is not changed. Auto capture or manual capture in the Klarna Merchant Portal are also available.

Cancellation and refunds: cancelling a not yet captured order releases the Klarna authorization. Full and partial refunds of captured amounts in the Klarna payment block of the order page.

Fraud review: orders that Klarna places as pending wait in Awaiting Klarna fraud review. Klarna's notification is verified with the Order Management API, and the order is marked paid, failed or cancelled. Amount and currency are checked against the order.

Test and live: Klarna playground with separate credentials. Every order remembers its environment and region, so captures and refunds of playground orders keep working after you go live.

No double processing: repeated notifications and double clicks never create a second order, a second Klarna authorization, a double capture or a double refund.

Klarna block on the order page: Klarna order ID, fraud status, authorized, captured and refunded amounts, refund history. Log without credentials or customer data.

Requirements

PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x, PHP 8.0 or later. A Klarna merchant account with API credentials (username and password) for one API region, and test credentials from the Klarna playground. A cart currency sold by Klarna in your region. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
