Overview
VibeFox USPS adds a USPS shipping method to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the delivery method step of checkout the customer sees one USPS option with the cheapest of the USPS services you selected, calculated live by the current USPS APIs for domestic and international parcels, or your fixed price when USPS gives no rate.
It suits stores that mail parcels from the United States with USPS. The extension calculates shipping rates only. It does not buy postage or labels, book pickups, track parcels or let customers choose a Post Office.
Key features
Current USPS APIs: uses the USPS APIs with OAuth 2.0 (Consumer Key and Consumer Secret from the USPS Developer Portal). The old Web Tools User ID is not needed.
Domestic and international: US addresses and US territories are quoted by ZIP code, other countries with the international prices.
Your choice of services: USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, First-Class Package International, Media Mail and Library Mail. Retail or Commercial prices.
Parcel size: a fixed box size or the product dimensions, converted from your store units.
Any store currency: USPS prices in USD are converted with your exchange rate. Without a rate, live rates are not used, so a price is never shown in the wrong currency.
Fixed prices as a fallback: prices per country and weight tier (XS to XL), per order or per item, and a fallback cost. They also work without USPS keys.
Fast and safe checkout: quotes are cached for 1 hour, failures for 10 minutes, and USPS is paused for 5 minutes after an outage. USPS errors never reach the customer.
Order details and clear settings: the USPS service and price source are shown on the admin order page. One Save button, JSON import and export, a button to clear the USPS cache, and a debug log viewer.
Requirements
OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later with the cURL extension. One download has the packages for both versions. Live rates need an app in the USPS Developer Portal (Consumer Key and Consumer Secret) and a 5-digit ship-from ZIP code. Fixed prices work without them. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
