VibeFox Shippo for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Shippo adds a Shippo shipping method to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. For the customer's address it asks Shippo for the rates of every carrier enabled in your Shippo account, such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL Express or Canada Post, and shows the cheapest one as a single shipping method at checkout.

It suits stores that already use Shippo to buy labels and want real carrier prices at checkout. The extension calculates shipping rates only. It does not buy labels, track parcels, validate addresses, offer pickup or drop-off locations, insurance, signature options or return labels. Customers see one option, not a list of all services.

Key features

Live multi-carrier rates: rates from the Shippo Shipments API for all carriers of your Shippo account. Optionally limit them to chosen carriers or service levels.

Rate saved with the order: the chosen carrier, service and estimated delivery days appear in a Shippo panel on the admin order page, so you know which label to buy.

Parcels: one parcel per order with the items stacked into one box, or one parcel per item. Weights and dimensions are converted from their OpenCart weight and length classes to kg and cm, with a default box size for products without dimensions.

International shipments: a customs declaration with item names, quantities, weights and values is sent, as Shippo requires for international rates.

Currency handling: a rate in your store default currency is used as it is. Other rates are converted with the exchange rate you enter, or not used without it. The price is then shown in the customer's currency.

Fallback prices: a price table by country and cart weight and one price for all other countries, used when there is no live rate.

Fast checkout: rates are cached for 1 hour. Failed requests are remembered, so the checkout never waits for Shippo on every refresh. API errors never reach the customer.

Shipping rules and a clear settings page: geo zone or a list of countries, free shipping from a subtotal, minimum subtotal, weight limits, tax class. Sections with one Save button, JSON import and export, and a debug log you can view in the admin.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A Shippo account with carriers enabled and an API token. Shippo charges for purchased labels, not for rate requests. Fallback prices work without a token. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
