VibeFox FedEx for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox FedEx adds a FedEx shipping method to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At checkout it asks the FedEx Rate API for live rates for the customer's address and cart weight and offers the cheapest FedEx service as one shipping option. Fixed prices per country and a fallback cost are used when there are no API keys or FedEx returns no rate.

It suits stores that ship with FedEx and have a FedEx account, or that want a fixed FedEx price without one. The extension calculates shipping rates at checkout. It does not create FedEx shipments, print labels, book pickups, track parcels or let customers choose a FedEx location, and it shows one option, not a list of services.

Key features

Live FedEx rates: the FedEx REST API with OAuth 2.0 (API Key and Secret Key from the FedEx Developer Portal). Account (negotiated) or list rates, sandbox and production, residential delivery.

Cheapest service: FedEx returns the available services, and the customer gets the cheapest one as a single option.

Safe currency handling: FedEx is asked to quote in your store currency. A rate only in the FedEx account currency is converted with your exchange rate, or ignored if no rate is set. The price is shown in the customer's currency.

Correct weight: product weights are converted from their OpenCart weight classes, products without a weight get a default weight, and an optional box size lets FedEx apply dimensional weight.

Fixed prices as a fallback: prices per country with an "Any other country" row and a fallback cost, per order or per item.

Rate saved with the order: the FedEx service, price source and calculated price are stored when the order is placed and shown in a FedEx shipping panel on the admin order page.

Fast checkout: the token is cached until it expires, rates for 1 hour and failed requests for 5 to 10 minutes. API errors never reach the customer.

Shipping rules and clear settings: geo zone or a country list, weight limits, minimum subtotal, free shipping from an amount, tax class; one Save button without page reload, JSON import and export, and a debug log you can view and clear on the extension page.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later with the cURL extension. One download has the packages for both versions. Live rates need a FedEx shipping account and a FedEx Developer Portal project with the Rate API (API Key, Secret Key, account number). Fixed prices work without them. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
