VibeFox Windcave for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Windcave Payment Gateway adds payments through the Windcave Hosted Payment Page to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4, using the Windcave REST API. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the secure Windcave page, pays by card or by another method enabled on your Windcave account, and comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after Windcave approves the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits stores with a Windcave merchant account that want card payments without a card form on their own site, with the choice to take the money at once or only authorise it and capture it later. The extension has no subscriptions or recurring payments, no saved cards, no embedded card form on your site, and it does not work with the older PxPay 2.0 API.

Key features

Hosted Payment Page: a Windcave payment session is created for the order total in the order currency, with the correct decimals for every currency (NZD 25.50, JPY 3000, KWD 1.250).

Paid only when Windcave confirms: the customer's return and the Windcave notification are both checked on the server through the Windcave REST API. The payment is applied exactly once, and one cart is paid only once.

Order check: the amount, currency, merchant reference and transaction type reported by Windcave are compared with the order. A mismatch puts the order in a review status of your choice with a note.

Purchase or Auth: take the money immediately, or authorise it now and capture it later with Capture Windcave payment in the order tab.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the VibeFox Windcave Payment Gateway tab of the order, up to the amount Windcave actually approved. A full refund of an uncaptured authorisation releases it.

Test mode: the Windcave UAT test environment with its own credentials, saved next to the production ones. Refunds and captures always go to the environment in which the order was paid.

No double charge: a new payment attempt first checks the previous one, and a second approved payment for a paid order is reported in a note instead of changing the order.

OpenCart settings: your own order statuses, geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Log without keys, card or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A Windcave merchant account with REST API credentials (username and API key) for the UAT test environment and/or production. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
