VibeFox Pin Payments for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Pin Payments Gateway adds card payments through Pin Payments to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer enters Visa, Mastercard or American Express card details in a card form above the Confirm Order button. Pin.js, the Pin Payments browser library, turns them into a single-use card token, and only this token reaches your store. The extension then charges the order total, and the order gets a status only from the Pin Payments answer, so declined cards leave only missing orders.

It suits stores with a Pin Payments merchant account (businesses in Australia and New Zealand) that want an on-site card form. Customers can pay from anywhere. The extension takes immediate one-time card payments only. It has no 3-D Secure, saved cards, subscriptions, separate authorize and capture, Apple Pay, Google Pay or webhooks.

Key features

Card form with Pin.js tokenization: the card inputs are never posted to your store, only the single-use Pin card token is.

Status only after Pin Payments answers: the order gets the paid status only for a successful, captured charge of exactly the order amount and currency. Any difference puts it in a review status with a note. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

One charge per cart: double submits, a second tab or a new order of the same cart cannot charge it twice. Each attempt is recorded before the request is sent, so a cart is never charged again blindly.

Safe on timeouts: if Pin Payments does not answer, the order is put in the review status with a note telling you what to look for in the Pin Payments dashboard.

Clear decline messages: customers see plain messages for declined cards, insufficient funds, expired cards or a wrong CVC and can try another card.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the VibeFox Pin Payments Gateway tab of the order, up to the amount actually charged, always sent to the mode (test or live) the order was paid in.

14 currencies: AUD, USD, NZD, SGD, EUR, GBP, CAD, HKD, JPY, MYR, THB, PHP, ZAR and IDR. In other currencies the payment method is hidden.

OpenCart conditions and log: your own order statuses, geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Separate test and live keys. Errors are always logged, without keys, card data or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A Pin Payments merchant account with publishable and secret API keys. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
