Overview

VibeFox PayU LATAM Payment adds PayU Latam WebCheckout payments to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the secure PayU payment page, pays with any method enabled in your PayU account (cards, cash, bank transfers, PSE and other local methods) and comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after PayU confirms the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits stores in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Peru that sell in ARS, BRL, CLP, COP, MXN, PEN or USD and have a PayU Latam account. The extension has no payment form on your site, no refunds from OpenCart (refunds are made in the PayU module), no saved cards, no subscriptions and no installments settings (PayU shows installments on its page).

Key features

Paid only when PayU confirms: the order status is set only by the signed PayU confirmation sent from server to server. The extension checks the signature, your merchant ID and the payment reference it issued. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Nothing to set up in PayU: the confirmation URL is sent with every payment.

Amount and currency check: a payment that does not match the order total goes to a review status with a note and is never accepted automatically.

Cash and bank payments: payments that PayU reports as pending, such as cash vouchers, put the order in an awaiting status until PayU confirms them.

Clear result for the customer: after a declined or expired payment the customer is back at checkout with the reason and can pay again. The cart is kept.

No double processing: each notification is processed once under a per-cart lock, and a cart is never paid twice, also on OpenCart 3, which creates a new order each time the confirm step is shown. A second payment for a paid order is flagged for refund.

Separate sandbox and live credentials: sandbox by default. Each payment attempt remembers its environment, so switching between sandbox and live does not break pending payments.

Your own order statuses and a PayU tab on the order page: choose the OpenCart status for a paid order, an awaiting payment, a payment on review and a failed payment. The order tab shows the reference, transaction, status, payment method and all payment attempts of the cart. Geo zone, minimum order total and an optional log without keys or personal data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A PayU Latam account with a merchant ID, an account ID for your country and an API key, and PayU's public sandbox credentials for testing. Checkout currency: ARS, BRL, CLP, COP, MXN, PEN or USD. The store must be reachable from the internet for PayU confirmations. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
