VibeFox Ozow for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Ozow Pay adds Ozow instant EFT (Pay by Bank) to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4 for payments in South African rand. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the hosted Ozow payment page, chooses a South African bank, approves the payment in the banking app and comes back to your store. Ozow also notifies the store directly, so the payment is confirmed even if the customer closes the browser. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after Ozow confirms the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits South African stores that want bank payments without card fees or a card form. The extension takes one-time payments in ZAR only. It has no refunds from OpenCart (refund in the Ozow dashboard), no subscriptions and no saved bank accounts.

Key features

Hosted Ozow page: the customer pays on the Ozow page. The payment request for the order total is signed with your Private Key (Ozow HashCheck, SHA-512).

Paid only when Ozow confirms: an Ozow answer is accepted only if its SHA-512 hash verifies with your Private Key, its Site Code is yours and it belongs to this payment attempt of the order.

Optional API check: with an API Key, every successful payment is also confirmed with the Ozow GetTransaction API before the order is marked paid.

Amount and currency check: the paid amount in cents and the currency are compared with the order. A mismatch puts the order in a review status with a note.

One cart, one payment: the notification and the customer return are processed the same way under a per-cart lock: a payment is never applied twice, and a second order of the same cart is never paid again. A cancelled or refunded order is never re-opened.

Test mode: test payments with the same Site Code and keys; a test payment never pays an order while the extension is live.

Your own order statuses: choose the OpenCart status for a paid order, a payment under investigation, a payment on review and a failed payment.

Ozow tab on the order page: transaction reference, Ozow transaction ID, status, amounts and the Ozow notes. OpenCart geo zone, minimum total and sort order. Optional log without keys, hashes or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. The currency South African rand (ZAR) in your store. An Ozow merchant account with the Site Code and Private Key, and optionally the API Key. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
