VibeFox MercadoPago for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox MercadoPago Gateway adds credit and debit card payments with the MercadoPago Checkout API to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4, for MercadoPago accounts in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. At the Confirm Order step the customer fills in the card fields, which are secure MercadoPago.js fields served by MercadoPago, so card data never reaches your site. MercadoPago turns the card into a one-time token, and your store creates the payment on the server. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after MercadoPago answers, so declined cards leave missing orders.

It suits stores that sell in the currency of their MercadoPago account and want the card form on their own checkout page, with installments. The extension takes cards only. It has no Checkout Pro redirect, MercadoPago wallet, cash, Pix, PSE or Yape payments, no saved cards or subscriptions, no separate authorize and capture and no currency conversion.

Key features

Card form on your checkout: card number, expiry and security code in MercadoPago fields, the cardholder name, the cardholder document where the country needs it, the card issuer when required and installments (cuotas, parcelas) from MercadoPago for the order total, limited to your Maximum installments.

Paid only when MercadoPago confirms: approved payments with the matching amount and currency set your paid status; payments under review wait in their own status until the MercadoPago notification completes them. A mismatch puts the order in a review status with a note. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Safe notifications: every notification is re-read from the MercadoPago API before an order changes, with an optional x-signature check.

No double charges: a per-cart lock, an idempotency key per card token and a lookup of lost answers stop double charges on a double click, a second tab or a timeout. A cart that is already paid is never charged again.

Test and live modes: separate TEST- and APP_USR- credentials, checked by prefix and against the account country when you save. Refunds and notifications use the credentials of the mode the payment was made in.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the VibeFox MercadoPago Gateway tab of the order, up to the amount actually charged, with the payment details, the refund history and the MercadoPago notes. A full refund sets the Refunded status.

Your own order statuses and OpenCart conditions: choose the OpenCart status for a paid order, a payment under review at MercadoPago, a payment on hold, a failed payment, a cancelled and a refunded order. Geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Log without tokens, card or payer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. An enabled store currency equal to the currency of your MercadoPago account (ARS, BRL, CLP, COP, MXN, PEN or UYU). A MercadoPago application with test and production Public Keys and Access Tokens. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
