VibeFox Klarna for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Klarna Payments adds Klarna Payments to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4: customers pay now, pay later or in instalments with the Klarna widget shown at the Confirm Order step, without a redirect. Klarna authorizes the purchase in the widget, the extension places the Klarna order server-side, and the order gets a status only after Klarna answers.

It suits stores in Europe, North America and Oceania with a Klarna merchant account that want Klarna at checkout and control over when the customer is charged. It has no Klarna Checkout (KCO), Express Checkout buttons, On-site messaging, Sign in with Klarna, subscriptions, saved payment methods or partial captures per order line.

Key features

Klarna widget at the Confirm Order step: the Klarna session is created on the server from the order OpenCart has just created, so the widget shows the final order.

Three API regions: Europe, North America and Oceania. Klarna is offered only to customers from the countries of your region paying in the currency of their country.

Capture when you ship: a placed Klarna order is an authorization. By default it is captured when you set the order to a completed status (for example Complete or Shipped). If the capture fails, the status is not changed. Auto or manual capture are also available.

Cancellation and refunds: setting a not yet captured order to the canceled status releases the Klarna authorization. Full and partial refunds of captured amounts in the VibeFox Klarna Payments tab of the order page.

Fraud review: orders that Klarna places as pending wait in a status of your choice. Klarna's notification is verified with the Order Management API, and the order is marked paid, failed or canceled. Amount and currency are checked against the order.

Test and live: Klarna playground with separate credentials. Every order remembers its environment and region, so captures and refunds of playground orders keep working after you go live.

No double processing: double clicks, reloads and a second browser tab never place a second Klarna order, and notifications, captures and refunds are never applied twice.

Your own order statuses: choose the OpenCart status for a paid order, a fraud review, a payment on hold, a payment error, a canceled and a refunded order. OpenCart geo zone, minimum total and sort order. Log without credentials or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A Klarna merchant account with API credentials (username and password) for one API region, and test credentials from the Klarna playground. An order currency sold by Klarna in your region. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
