VibeFox IntaSend for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox IntaSend Pay Gateway adds IntaSend payments to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4 for stores in Kenya and East Africa. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the IntaSend hosted checkout, pays with M-Pesa, a card or another method enabled on your IntaSend account, and comes back to your store. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after IntaSend confirms the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits stores that want to accept M-Pesa and cards with an IntaSend account without a payment form on their own site. The extension takes one-time payments only. Refunds are not sent to IntaSend from the store, and it has no saved cards, subscriptions or inline (popup) payment form.

Key features

IntaSend hosted checkout: one payment for the order total in the order currency. Supported currencies: KES, USD, EUR, GBP, UGX, TZS, NGN, GHS, XAF and XOF. UGX, XAF and XOF are sent without decimals.

Paid only when IntaSend confirms: the order status is set only after your server has asked the IntaSend Payment Status API with your secret key. Nothing sent by the browser or in the webhook body is trusted. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Webhook with challenge: payments are confirmed even when the customer closes the browser or M-Pesa confirms later. Webhooks with a wrong challenge are rejected.

Amount and currency check: the amount and currency reported by IntaSend are compared with the order. A mismatch or a partial payment puts the order in a review status with a note.

No double processing: a payment is applied once even when the customer return and the webhook arrive at the same moment. One cart is paid once, and a second payment is flagged with a note.

Sandbox and live modes: separate key pairs for each mode. The payment method is hidden while the keys of the current mode are missing or belong to the other mode. Older payments are always checked in the mode they were made in.

Clear messages: a message after a failed or abandoned payment, and a "being confirmed" page with a Check again button while M-Pesa is still confirming.

OpenCart conditions and order tab: geo zone, minimum order total, sort order and your own order statuses. The order page has a tab with the IntaSend attempts and invoices. Log without keys or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later with cURL. One download has the packages for both versions. An IntaSend account with publishable and secret API keys, and a webhook with a challenge phrase. HTTPS for live payments. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
