VibeFox Hubtel for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Hubtel Pay Gateway adds Hubtel payments in Ghana to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the secure Hubtel Online Checkout page, pays with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, a Visa or Mastercard card or GhQR, and comes back to your store. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after Hubtel confirms the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits Ghanaian stores that sell in Ghana cedis (GHS) and have a Hubtel business account. Hubtel must whitelist the IP address of your web server for its Transaction Status API, and Hubtel has no public test environment, so all payments are real. The extension has no refunds from OpenCart, no subscriptions, no saved cards and no choice of the payment channel inside the store.

Key features

Hosted Hubtel checkout: Mobile Money and card payments on the Hubtel page. The customer chooses the channel there.

Paid only when Hubtel confirms: Hubtel callbacks are not signed, so the extension never trusts them. It asks the authenticated Hubtel Transaction Status API and marks the order paid only when Hubtel reports it as Paid for the exact order total in GHS. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Amount check: a different amount puts the order in a review status of your choice with a note.

Nothing to set up at Hubtel: the callback URL is sent with every payment.

Lost callbacks covered: the customer's return checks the payment, a cron URL runs background re-checks, and you can click Check Hubtel payment status on the order page.

No double processing: every payment attempt has its own reference. Repeated callbacks never apply a payment twice or reopen a cancelled order. Before a new attempt, earlier unconfirmed attempts of the same cart are checked with Hubtel, and a second payment of an already paid order is flagged for refund.

Hubtel tab on the order page: all payment attempts of the order with their Hubtel status and transaction, plus the Hubtel notes.

OpenCart conditions: geo zone, minimum order total, sort order and your own order statuses. Optional log without API keys or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later with the cURL extension. One download has the packages for both versions. A Hubtel business account with API ID, API Key and merchant account number (POS Sales ID), and your server IP whitelisted by Hubtel. Order currency Ghana cedi (GHS). A server cron for the background checks is recommended. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
