VibeFox eWAY for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox eWAY Payment Gateway adds card payments through the eWAY Rapid API Responsive Shared Page to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the secure eWAY payment page, pays by card and comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after eWAY confirms the payment, so abandoned or declined payments stay missing orders.

It suits stores in Australia, New Zealand and Asia that charge in AUD, NZD, SGD, HKD or MYR and have an eWAY merchant account with Rapid API access. The extension takes one-time card payments only, captured immediately. It has no card fields on your site, no saved cards or subscriptions, no separate authorise and capture, and refunds made in MyeWAY are not synced back to OpenCart.

Key features

Responsive Shared Page: the hosted eWAY payment page for the order total in the order currency, sent in the currency's minor units.

Paid only when eWAY confirms: when the customer returns, the extension asks eWAY server-to-server for the result of the payment page this order created. Nothing in the return link is trusted. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Amount and currency check: the approved amount and currency are compared with the order. A mismatch, such as an approval for a partial amount, puts the order in a review status with a note.

Lost returns are picked up: if the customer pays and closes the browser, an optional cron URL asks eWAY about an hour later and confirms the order.

No double processing: repeated returns never apply a payment twice. A new attempt first checks the previous eWAY pages of the order and the cart, and a second approved payment is flagged for refund.

Sandbox and live: separate API credentials for each mode, with a clear mode badge on the settings page. Payments are checked and refunded in the mode they were made in.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the VibeFox eWAY Payment Gateway tab of the order, up to the amount eWAY actually charged, with the transaction details, refund history and eWAY notes. A full refund sets the Refunded status.

OpenCart conditions: your own order statuses, geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Optional log without card data, keys or customer e-mails.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later with cURL. One download has the packages for both versions. An eWAY merchant account with Rapid API key and password (and an eWAY sandbox account for testing). Store currency AUD, NZD, SGD, HKD or MYR. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
