Overview

VibeFox ECPay Payment Gateway adds ECPay (綠界), the Taiwanese payment service, to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the ECPay hosted payment page and pays by credit card, ATM virtual account, convenience store payment code or convenience store barcode. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after ECPay confirms the payment with a signed notification, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits stores in Taiwan that sell in New Taiwan Dollars (TWD). The extension takes one-time payments only. It has no refunds from OpenCart (refunds are made in the ECPay back-office), no saved cards, subscriptions or periodic payments, installments, Apple Pay, e-invoices or logistics.

Key features

Four ECPay methods: Credit Card, ATM virtual account, CVS code (convenience store) and Barcode. With several methods enabled, the customer chooses one at the Confirm Order step.

Paid only when ECPay confirms: an order gets its status only from the ECPay server notification with a valid CheckMacValue signature, for a trade number this store issued, with a paid amount that matches the order. The customer's return alone never changes an order. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Payment instructions for offline methods: for ATM, CVS and Barcode the order waits in an awaiting status, and the account, code or barcodes with the payment deadline are shown on the order success page and in the customer's order information.

Safe retries: every payment attempt gets a new ECPay trade number, so retries after a failed payment work. A second payment for a paid order is noted for refund.

No surprises: repeated notifications are ignored, simulated payments from the ECPay back-office never mark an order paid, and amount mismatches, sandbox payments after going live or payments for cancelled orders go to a review status.

Test without an account: test mode uses the public ECPay sandbox merchant, so you can test before you have ECPay keys.

ECPay tab on the order page: the payment attempts with the ECPay trade numbers, their status and the ECPay notes of the order.

Your own order statuses and OpenCart conditions: choose the status for a paid, awaiting, on-hold and failed payment; geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Optional log without keys or customer data; errors are always logged.
