VibeFox Datatrans for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Datatrans Gateway adds payments through Datatrans, the Swiss payment service provider, to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the Datatrans payment page, pays with a card, TWINT, PostFinance or any other method enabled in your Datatrans account, and comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after Datatrans confirms the payment, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits stores with a Datatrans merchant account that want a hosted payment page and refunds from the OpenCart order page. The extension takes one-time payments only. It has no saved cards or aliases, subscriptions, Lightbox or Secure Fields integration on your site, choice of payment methods in the settings or partial capture of an authorization.

Key features

Datatrans payment page: one payment for the order total in the order currency, including zero-decimal and three-decimal currencies. The page opens in German, English, French or Italian to match the store language.

Paid only when Datatrans confirms: the order status is set after a signed Datatrans webhook or after a server-side check with the Datatrans status API. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Amount and currency check: the amount and currency reported by Datatrans are compared with the order. A mismatch puts the order in a review status with a note.

Authorize now, capture later: with Auto settle off, payments are only authorized. Capture or cancel them in the VibeFox Datatrans Gateway tab of the order.

No double processing: repeated webhooks and returns never apply a payment twice. A new attempt of the same cart checks and closes the earlier Datatrans transactions, so the cart cannot be paid twice.

Sandbox and production: separate merchant IDs, API passwords and sign keys. Captures and refunds always go to the environment the payment was made in.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the order tab, with the refund history and the Datatrans notes. A full refund sets the Refunded status.

OpenCart conditions and statuses: geo zone, minimum order total, sort order and your own statuses for paid, on hold, canceled and refunded orders. Optional log without keys or customer data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. A Datatrans account with a merchant ID, an API password and, recommended, an HMAC sign key. A store reachable from the internet for webhooks. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
