VibeFox Conekta for OpenCart

Overview

VibeFox Conekta Gateway adds payments through Conekta (Mexico) to OpenCart 3 and OpenCart 4. At the last checkout step the customer clicks Confirm Order, is sent to the secure Conekta hosted checkout and pays by credit or debit card, cash at OXXO and other stores, SPEI bank transfer or BNPL, whichever you allow. Then the customer comes back to your store. Card data never touches your site. OpenCart creates the order before the payment, but the order gets a status only after Conekta confirms the payment or issues an OXXO or SPEI reference, so unpaid attempts stay missing orders.

It suits Mexican stores selling in MXN or USD that want cards and cash payments in one method with a Conekta account. The extension takes one-time payments only. It has no card form on your checkout page, no saved cards, subscriptions, pre-authorization and capture or monthly installments (MSI), and refunds or chargebacks made in the Conekta panel are only noted on the order, not recorded automatically.

Key features

Conekta hosted checkout: a Conekta order is created for the order total in the order currency, with products, discounts, taxes and shipping. Cash, SPEI and BNPL are offered for MXN orders; USD orders get cards only.

Paid only when Conekta confirms: both the webhook and the customer's return only trigger a read of the order from the Conekta API with your private key. Nothing in a notification or in the return URL is trusted. OpenCart then sends its usual order e-mails.

Amount and currency check: the amount in cents and the currency are compared with the order. Any difference, or a test-mode payment received while the store is live, puts the order in your on-hold status for review.

OXXO and SPEI: when the customer gets a payment reference, the order gets your awaiting status and moves to the paid status when Conekta reports the payment.

No double processing: repeated or simultaneous notifications never apply a payment twice. Before a new attempt, the earlier Conekta checkouts of the cart are reused, confirmed if already paid, or cancelled, so an old link cannot be paid twice.

Test and live modes: separate private keys for each mode and a TEST MODE notice at checkout. Notifications and refunds always use the key of the mode the payment was made in.

Refunds from the order page: full and partial refunds in the VibeFox Conekta Gateway tab of the order, up to the amount Conekta actually charged. A full refund sets the Refunded status.

OpenCart conditions: your own order statuses, geo zone, minimum order total and sort order. Optional log without API keys or customer contact data.

Requirements

OpenCart 3.0.x (tested on 3.0.5.0) or OpenCart 4.0.2 and later (tested on 4.1.0.3), PHP 8.0 or later. One download has the packages for both versions. Checkout currency MXN or USD. A Conekta account with test and live private keys and a webhook in the Conekta panel. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
