VibeFox GIG Logistics for Adobe Commerce

Overview

VibeFox GIG Logistics adds a GIG Logistics (GIGL) shipping method for courier delivery in Nigeria to Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. Customers choose GIG Logistics at the shipping step of checkout and pay a live GIG Logistics price for their Nigerian address, a price from your own table, or a fallback cost.

It suits stores in Nigeria that send orders door to door with GIG Logistics. The module calculates shipping prices at checkout. It does not create GIG Logistics shipments, waybills or labels, book pickups, track parcels or let customers choose a service centre.

Key features

Live GIG Logistics prices: with GIG Logistics API credentials, the price for the cart is requested from GIG Logistics for every Nigerian delivery address. A test API mode is available.

Price table with weight tiers: a base price per country ("* All other countries" for any other country) and optional prices for five weight tiers: up to 1, 2, 3 and 5 kg and above 5 kg.

Three price sources in order: live GIG price, then the price table, then a fallback cost. If none gives a price, the method is hidden for that cart.

Currency conversion: GIG Logistics returns prices in Nigerian naira (NGN). Stores with another base currency set a conversion rate. Without it, live prices are not used. Magento shows the price in the customer's currency.

Distance-based pricing support: map coordinates of the pickup and delivery addresses are found with OpenStreetMap (Nominatim), or you enter the pickup coordinates yourself.

Nigerian states by code or name: the state of the delivery address is recognised by its code (for example LA) or its name (for example Lagos) and sent to GIG Logistics. The pickup address can come from the Magento shipping origin.

Fast checkout: prices are cached for 1 hour, failed requests for 10 minutes, the API token for 30 minutes. API errors never reach the customer.

Shipping rules: minimum and maximum cart weight, minimum order amount, free shipping from a subtotal, per-order or per-item table prices, and the countries you ship to. Magento cart price rules with free shipping work as usual.

Standard Magento settings: all settings are on the standard Delivery Methods configuration page, with sections for the API account, pickup address, fixed prices, conditions and availability, settings per website, an encrypted API password and a debug log viewer.

Requirements

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 to 2.4.9 (your own server or Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure; not Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service), PHP 8.1 to 8.4. Live prices need GIG Logistics third-party API credentials (username and password). The price table and fallback cost work without them. A VibeFox license key from vibefox.net (one key per domain).
